For a funeral which dress A or B. It is quite a big affair and there will more than likely be local press attending because of who the person is. Any other suggestions welcome. Thank you

They are very glam. Will you be wearing a coat or jacket?

They're both quite sexy for a funeral. I'm not a conservative dresser at all but I'd got for knee length at a funeral.

I like b. I like the bit of bling around the collar line and I like the way it drapes !

Oh just realised it's a funeral ! Maybe a is more classic , definitely a!

They will both be knee length or below as I am only 5ft 2, so on the short side. Yes will wear a black jersey blazer over the top or something similar.

In that case I think b.

Yes I agree A is more funeral wear to but I prefer B and would wear it again.

I think they both look a bit 'night out' for a funeral.

OatcakeCravings · 08/06/2017 18:40

A definitely. B is lovely but for a night out, not a funeral.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/06/2017 18:41

Neither. They are both night out dresses.

You don't need to consider glamour just because the local newspaper photographer will be there! Aim to go unnoticed at a funeral, not stand out from the crowd. A is the better of the two, but I wouldn't wear either to a funeral.

Any other suggestions please. I am no good at fashion and don't want to get it wrong and end up looking like a fool.

Do you have a plain black skirt? Something you might wear to work? Just keep it simple but quite formal.

FlippinNorah · 08/06/2017 18:55

They're both party dresses. A might work with a plain dark or grey lightweight scarf and a jacket over it. Definitely not B

No I have literally one pair of jeans! Lost weight gone down from a 14 to a 10 and haven't got any new clothes yet. I was waiting to make sure I kept the weight off been 12 months off now so am about to start buying stuff.

Get a plain black skirt then or plain black smart trousers. Do you have a black or dark top? You don't need to spend a lot and you will wear them again.

No don't think the press will give a fuck what I am wearing, I don't give a duck what I wear either hence why my wardrobe consists of one pair of jeans. I don't do fashion and as stated above don't want to make myself look like a fool.

Choose whichever you're going to wear more often. Underdress it -i.e. make less glam with a blazer and non black scarf, eg cream or white. Don't wear black tights.

Personally I prefer a but would prob wear b more often.

But could you borrow from a friend or sister instead? Black trousers, t shirt, blazer would be fine.

Will look for black chino style trousers then and maybe a blouse. No don't have many tops either 3 and all worn out and have small holes from my belt not suitable.
