Acnecide Advice Please

Hi all, I'm hoping for some advice on Acnecide from anyone with experience of using it. I have Rosacea and along with the redness I get sort of small hard spot like lumps under my skin, mostly on my cheeks and chin.
I started using Acnecide cream about 3 weeks ago after a recommendation on here. The trouble is my skin now seems worse than ever and my confidence is at rock bottom Sad I'm just wondering is it normal for things to get worse before they get better? Or is this a bit of a myth?
I haven't really had any of the dryness reported as a side effect by others and am wondering if I am using it correctly or if it simply doesn't suit my skin.
Basically I cleanse using a gentle cleanser then apply the acnecide cream. Leave it for an hour or so then put on some light moisturiser. This is literally all I use so should I give it more time or move on to yet another acne cream?
I am actually starting to avoid going out as I feel it looks so bad. I can cope with the redness as its easily covered with foundation but these lumps are just awful. Bad skin in my mid thirties is not something I thought I would be worrying about!!

Bump for the morning crowd....I really am desperate. On a separate note any recommendations for acne on my bum? (TMI) sorry. It seems to come and go but is really bad at the minute. I realise I'm not painting a very pretty picture of myself here Grin

Keep up with it- I've been using it almost 3 months and I'm really starting to see a different now. I'm 31 and although my skin is far from perfect now it's much much less congested since about a fortnight ago. It made my skin really flaky and dry and at times a bit sore but it's either this or long term antibiotics so thought I'd stick with it for a bit longer. Does that help you at all?

For bum make sure you wash body after hair so you don't get conditioner on it
Maybe try an anti bac soap like dettol bar soap

I used to have bad acne and had Theraclear treatment on it. My skin is now clear. It's expensive but worth it!

I am 2 weeks in with acnecide and i think it has made things worse overall too. That said I have not really got any new spots but the old ones aren't healing.
I am using just a tiny amount as it does make my skin dry and itchy. From what I've read you have to give it time so I'm not giving up yet.

I suffer with rosacea and the best thing for my skin was using epiduo which is an acne treatment - my skin is unbelievably clear and although I get redness sometimes the bumps have gone.

It got worse before it got better for me, but then it ended up so much better. It really worked.

It got a bit worse for me and then much better. My skin is pretty clear now and I'm just weaning myself off it to see if the spots come back! The worst thing for me was the dryness, despite using moisturiser.

Thanks so much everyone for all the helpful replies. I will stick with the Acnecide for now and report back again in a few months time. Luckily I don't seem to be getting the dry skin side effects so I suppose that's a positive. Thanks also for the other recommendations ktjb39 and mintich I am always on the look out for things that have worked for other fellow sufferers!!

I had no luck with Acnecide or Quinoderm (I think Benzoyl Peroxide products can work short term but are bad long term), basically I used Cod liver oil and CBD paste to clear up my cystic acne/rosacea and noticed that with consistent consumption/use it cleared up nicely and now I still take both daily just to keep clear and for general health.

Fish oil I used (taking 3 of the 1 a day pills per day) - //www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/product/holland-barrett-cod-liver-oil-1000mg-softgel-capsules-60019016

CBD paste I used (pea sized dollop morning and night, added benefit is I sleep much better now!) - cbdiablo.co.uk/product/el-tenedor-del-diablo-raw-cbd-paste-1000mg/
