Accidentally gone ginger!

Help!

I've home dyed. Tried to go from brown to dark blonde and ended up ginger! Can I get a darker dye to cover it, or do I need to fork out for a professional job?

Use a semi permanent like castings, to cover the ginger. I would recommend you go to a Hairdresser if you want to go from brown to blonde.

Not be afraid ginger , it's trend neway look now Smile
If siriously is your hair in good condition?
If it goes slightly ginger then you may need to pre-lighten it again.
You just need to be able to see to be honest. It will most probably go orange to start with so you'll have to do it again until you've stripped that orange out.
Only after the orange is gone use the dark blonde. You could just use the dark blonde with the ginger in your hair, but it might not work and you end up in a mess.
Another option :just dye over it with brown. Chances are it will work. I dyed my hair a reddish brown once and it went horribly Dutch orange. So I went over it with dark brown and it was ok.

My hair is in pretty good condition. I might just get a darker colour to calm it down. Can't understand what went wrong!

If I looked like the women in that picture I would be happy but I just look like a highlighter pen

If you have any red pigment in your hair - even if you don't realise it-home dying will often turn it ginger if the product doesn't have a huge amount of the bleaching ingredient. You need a hairdresser or some really strong peroxide. Probably the former.
