Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream?!

I just came across a tube in the bathroom cabinet, and put it on my face after my evening shower.

3/4 of an hour later, I'm still glossy and sticky, and I'm having to wipe it off before I get into bed, otherwise the pillow case will be grim. I was really sparing with it, as well.

I remember now why I don't use it. I can't imagine using it in the morning either, before putting make-up on. It would all slide off.

What am I missing - it's supposed to be a wonder product.

It is but it was a wonder for the dermatitis on dh hands!

I didn't think it was designed to use all over the face.

It's topical balm for really dry bits, not face moisturiser! Grin

You don't use it as a face cream. It's good for dry spots and chapped lips.

It's not for using like that!

It's for dry, rough skin. I use it on lips, cuticles, heels etc. Also sometimes a tiny tiny amount to de-frizz hair.

It's vaseline, some vit A and some salicylic acid, so no surprise it's just sitting on the skin.

It says it 'works wonders to moisturise and protect anytime, anyway you choose' and 'apply liberally as often as needed'!

Eek - I have taken it way too literally it seems, and I really put just a teeny amount on?!

Ooh, de-frizzing hair, I could definitely use up the last of it for that.

Yes, it's very concentrated, just use a tiny dab. It will last for ages.

Good for dry lips, dry patches on skin, hands, feet (with socks). I have applied a very small amount all over my face on occasion, but very sparingly.

I can't get past the weird smell of 8hr cream, but DM swore by it.

I use it on blemishes, bits of rough skin, the odd spot of redness.

Think of it like a kind of bonjela for your face, if that helps.

I use it for my hands, feet and elbows here. I'm like the Sahara.

I use it on cuticles, dry patches, lips etc. I wouldn't slather my face in it! Grin

I remember reading that posh spice uses it on her face as she has dry skin, so I tried it and ended up like you op. I have used it on minor burns and it's quite good for that.

But dear God, THE SMELL!

I can just about bear to put it on my feet.

I think there is a fragrance free version as well.

I put it on my heels after I've foot-filed them; and yes to the awful smell, which is why I can only put it over 5 feet away from my nose!

Yes, rough skin, chapped lips, dry feet etc. It stinks to high heaven though.

I've just remembered I have an eight hour lipstick. Bought it moons ago but it refuses to die and turns up in handbags and jacket pockets. Have to say it's great.

I love it. Great for chapped lips, burns, dry cracked bits on hands and feet. It a balm for severe dry skin. It's not a day cream!

I always take it abroad. It's so useful. Eyebrow balm, lip balm. It's so versatile.

Oh.....and I love the smell.

You get used to the smell, I use it everyday and don't notice it anymore.

I don't mind the smell but it's not high on my list of favourite scent!

Love it for lips. And super dry bits on hands. Wouldn't countenance it on my face but I'm a grease ball
