Please help me wow at this wedding

I've had a really tough time recently and have a big wedding coming up that I'd like to go to feeling lovely.

I've bought the navy dress in the pic and whilst it looks nice on, I'm not sure it's THE dress. I am also oddly drawn to the stripy asos one but I don't like having my arms on show so would need some kind of cover up.

Can you lovely mumsnetters help me find something really awesome?

I am size 10, early thirties and open to suggestions. Generally sway towards a mid length and like I've said before, like to cover my arms. Legs are pretty good and I'm not averse to a jumpsuit. Budget up to £150 ish. Help me please :)

I love the dress you have bought but really not keen on the stripy one!

I think you should wear the dress with some killer heels. I bet your arms are fabulous so don't cover up in a cardigan or wrap!

Be bold. Be confident.

Go and get fitted for a new bra and suck it in knickers.

Get your hair, eyebrows and nails done and go for it.

The first dress is lovely and very show-stopping. The stripy one is hideous. Wear the first one!!

Haha thanks both for steering me clear of the stripy one. I don't know what is making me like it Hmm

The other one is lovely, doesn't look quite as show stopping on me as it does on the model though, will attach a photo. Maybe I just need some tan on my arms and some
new shoes..?

Oh it's beautiful!
It looks amazing on you.
Me personally? I'd go: big bouncy hair, great bag and matching shoes in either gold or navy, dark nails on fingers, light tan. BOOM.
Also, if you're no good at make up like me book yourself in for that, the things they can do with you is outstanding.

I think its great with the shoes you have!

You could also get a netty underskirt to make it stick out slightly more like in the model?
I love chi chi dresses - they're my go to for weddings now, really comfy and always get lots of comments.

That looks lovely on you. Shoes look fine too and if they are comfortable wear them, weddings can be long days.
I had a thread a couple of weeks ago pretty much same spec as you but I'm shorter and poorer haha. I've still not ordered anything Confused

The dress is beautiful and looks amazing on you. Personally, I'd say stay away from a net petticoat and let the gorgeous pattern speak for itself.

love the dress on you, and the shoes. Needs a sticky out underskirt (you can just add some tulle to the lining if you can do a running stitch!) and you'll look amazing.

Your arms are in no way requiring cover up.

So many nice dresses on that site! Lovely.

As the dress is quite dramatic, I'd tone down the jewellery etc. High heels, neutral make up. You definitely don't need to cover your arms.

Looks great.

Just don't overdo the gold any further.

Black clutch handbag for example. I'd do "statement" black earrings as the neck of the dress precludes other jewellery.

Hair up in that dress (if long) to show the neckline.

I'll be the voice of dissent and say I think the navy dress, while lovely, is a bit too covered, esp for someone with a lovely figure like you have. With the covered shoulders and long length I'd like to see it a bit more open around the neck. As is it looks a tad Amish.

Oooh I love this dress and it looks great on. Not sure on your gold shoes, maybe go for navy or strappier ones.
