I'm 48 and going grey.
I've been having my hair dyed with a semi permanent for about 5 years and have recently moved to permanent.
Being a mid brownish colour it needs doing every 5 week. Fine.

However I recently found out that my system doesn't detox properly and I already have toxins in my system that would class me as pre cancerous.

So I'd be an idiot to carry I guess.

What could I have done to my hair that would allow they greys to come through naturally. I want to avoid a halo effect slowly growing out.
I'm happy to have semis, high/low lights?? For say the next 6 months to get me past the tricky stage.
And then possibly a shorter cut/restyle.

Hair used to be straight but now quite curly unless blow dried.
Previously highlights have eventually gone very gingery.

Will risk a very outing photo

Maybe switch to semi permanent and go longer between applications after going shorter to gradually grow it out.

Or, look at non toxic alternatives.. henna, or any other suggestions?

Would you consider henna? Standard henna gives a red tone, but Lush do a brown version (or you can add indigo to red henna powder for the same effect). It's non toxic, and has a good conditioning effect on the hair.

Thank you both.
Henna is something I have considered but didn't want the copper colour.
Ironically I used to Henna it as a teenager.
Will investigate Lush.
