Help, I've bought this dress to wear for a wedding. I was thinking about silver to go with it?
I've found a bag and shoes but can't find a light jacket/Cardigan to go with it.
When I was looking at them I thought silver might be too much? But not sure what other colour I could go for.

Is it your wedding?

Highmaintenancefemalestuff Thu 27-Apr-17 21:16:28

No not mine.

Silver would be good.

You could do a silver clutch, heels and then a navy shrunken jacket that was quite nipped in at the waist.

It's very bridal. Are you sure about it?

Highmaintenancefemalestuff Thu 27-Apr-17 21:55:35

I went through my choices with the bride earlier. She liked this one but I'm worried now.
I do have another choice. I'll add a picture.

Highmaintenancefemalestuff Thu 27-Apr-17 21:57:53

I'm not sure about the sleeves though.
I think I may have to go back to the drawing board.
I hate shopping for myself. Throw me in a kids clothing store and I'll have the time of my life shopping for the DC, I'm crap at choosing my own clothes.

Well if she liked it, it should be fine. Its very pretty.

I have to say, if its a straight choice, i like the first. I agree that it is a bit bridal but you could tone it down with a little cardi or jacket in a contrasting colour?

therootoftheroot Thu 27-Apr-17 22:03:12

I like the second one better! Much more guest and less bride. Really pretty.

Highmaintenancefemalestuff Thu 27-Apr-17 22:05:51

I see the bridal point now it been mentioned, didnt see it like that before so thankyou for letting me know.
The last time I dressed up was my wedding a year ago and God only knows when I'll next get the chance so trying to make the most of it.
I've sent an email to cancel my order, I'll keep looking.
I need something floaty so as not to show my lumps and bumps.

therootoftheroot Thu 27-Apr-17 22:37:19

Your other choice is so pretty.

What size are you and what budget? Can we look?

Highmaintenancefemalestuff Thu 27-Apr-17 23:20:55

In dresses I'm sure I can get away with a 12. I'm normally a 14 on the bottom half 10/12 top half. I don't think I could get away with anything clingy (I've seen plenty body con dresses I like though) unless I could find some really good stomach control pants (might be a bit sweaty for June). I'm not really sure on budget. I'm on maternity leave so this ones on dh.

I've fallen in love with this one. Dh (who's giving away the bride) is wearing navy too.
Don't want silver with this one as the brides sister is wearing navy and silver. Any ideas?

Red may work with that latest blue dress? Or nude shoes and bag?

Highmaintenancefemalestuff Fri 28-Apr-17 19:28:24

I've just been told hot pink is good with navy. Never thought of putting the two together but I have found some lovely shoes.

PovertyJetset Fri 28-Apr-17 19:29:28

I would go for nude, pale pink or yellow with the navy dress.

Red and navy looks a bit nautical/air steward to me.

MaQueen Fri 28-Apr-17 19:46:11

I wouldn't go with a little jacket, or shrug type thing. I'd go with a delicate shawl.

If the dress is a more reddish lavender then I would accessorise with a soft green (trust me it works, they are complimentary opposites). If it's a more blueish lilac then I would go with pale gold.

therootoftheroot Fri 28-Apr-17 20:39:46

The navy dress is lovely.
I agree about hot pink.

SweetLuck Fri 28-Apr-17 20:44:50

Hot pink or lemon yellow.

Highmaintenancefemalestuff Fri 28-Apr-17 21:48:44

I've ordered these shoes. Need to take them with me to get a bag.
I'm so excited I've got a chance to dress up. How sad is that?

therootoftheroot Fri 28-Apr-17 22:35:33

not sad at all!

I am going to a wedding in summer too and am also looking at outfits and thinking what to wear.

Those are fab and i think the navy and pink will look fab together
