Yes, another thread about hush.
Just got their summer launch email. They have some lovely summer things on their website....I know their quality is very mixed and their prices out of line with quality, but still tempted...love the portobello top. Just too expensive for being a one wear wonder though. Is anyone risking anything?

Just came on here to ask the same, but also their summer prices havestepped up even from spring - I really like the Rosa top, but HOW MUCH?
It's lyocell, not silk. That is BONKERSMONEY.

I know, I've just been looking in more detail, their prices really are too much, if they lived up to the styling it would be one thing, but they don't consistently....I have a few things I have worn non stop, wash well, great, but also had a jumper and two t shirts that were only fit for dusting with after a couple of washes.

I love the style of their stuff but it's just so far out of my budget! Has anyone found a high street shop with a similar style?

I think the prices are ridiculous. That top - £65??? I agree. They have really stepped up their prices. Its a shame. I love the Greenwhich top but £79. Its just way too much. I know its embroidered but so are many at a fraction of the price from New look or matalan even when summer stock comes in. places like that are bouncing with embroidered tops.

The thing about Hush threads on here is that they always go the same way, everyone raves about all the items they have ordered and how they look so nice then when they arrive they all say they had to send them back because they didn't fit well or hang right and they weren't the quality you'd expect for the price.

I've never had any luck with anything other than one Jessica dress about 2 years ago and the pyjamas. I don't even bother to look at their clothes any more!

I've started looking at their website solely for the styling then using uniqlo, esprit, gap etc to put the look together at about a third of the price and often better quality.

I'm not using them anymore.I have a couple of pieces which are great-a star print skort an the Evangaline dress. However the bad have been really bad.An essential grey jumper which looks terrible after 1 wash.A star print T shirt which is thin and goes out of shape. Both unwearable and barely worn. H&M do it better for a fraction of the price.Bought a new look star jumper which washes beautifully and cost £20.

I haven't looked at the email yet but don't think I'll bother. I'm not in the U.K. so delivery and returns are expensive. I have some things that I love (Tara dress, star jumper from autumn was good quality and the navy / silver sparkle jumper is lush). But the marble tee was a rag after one wash and the essential crew jumpers are full of bobbles.

Can't believe the prices quoted above either!

Then again maybe if some things get rave MN reviews I'll be tempted!

Hush is extremely overrated.

I do like the style of their Harem Pants - but the fabric is naff and looks like utter shit after a couple of washes - Primark does better quality fabric.

£65 for a lyocell vest top?!? Seriously Hush, quit being greedy or you're going to go out of business.

I agree a lot of the stuff is over-priced, but I honestly think Hush is just like any other shop, in that some things are great, and others are not so good. I have worn my ruched skirts so much that I actually bought a second black one - they were one of my best buys of all last year. In contrast, the lovely Breton jumper I bought was a total disaster after the first wash, and in reality I should have sent it back - it's now worn on top of my pyjamas for lying about the house - and the plain crew neck jumpers I have need constant de-bobbling. Of the spring/summer clothes, the only thing I bought was the lightening bolt sweatshirt which I really love. I would buy more jersey basic type stuff from them, but would never buy knitwear again.

Well I have returned the summer stella jumper because a hole is forming at the front. For £75 I would expect that not to happen esp as I had literally worn it once. It was very thin. I sent it back last week and they must have recieved it by now and I am still waiting on the response from their material analysis. I will be seriously pissed off if they dont refund me.

Their prices are loopdeloop. They are the new Boden.

I say that as a person with both Boden & Hush in their wardrobe. I have 2 of the Evangeline dresses, though one has another name but it is the same style and pattern Hmm - 1 navy, 1 olive. I have 2 t-shirts, grey v neck with horizontal bronze stripes, grey roundneck with bronze large lightning bolt (still available, I think). The dresses are better than the t-shirts, quality wise but I like the fit and style of them.

Oh, I also have a pair of the long harem pants (black), wearing them now. Really comfy but I keep them as indoors loungewear or long flights fashion, rather than outside clothes as they are essentially expensive pj bottoms. They've washed and aged well though, I've had them for a good couple of years.

I bought the portobello top but haven't received it yet. I deliberated about it as I think I could find something similar in H&M and I will look for sure. I have a few dark maxi skirts that are plain and I hope that the portabello top under a denim jacket would make an 'outfit'. Otherwise I will end up wearing the skirts with a white tshirt but that is a bit too casual for wearing for drinks so I'm hoping the portab

...oops hit post with my clumsy fingers.....

I'm hoping the portabello top will take the outfit up a level to evenings. I'm probably deluding myself but recently sent back something from there that I changed my mind about. I'll report back when I get it.

You know when I think of my good things from Hush they have been denim shorts and a denim skirt, as well as vests. I do have a denim skirt from H&M that has been just as good quality wise, but I don't like the colour and cut of it quite as much.

Denim shorts from a couple of years ago were probably one of my best Hush buys too Shopgirl

So I've now had a look and am tempted by a few things!

I really don't understand their pricing though, it makes no sense. The Rosa vest top is a staggering £65 yet the dress version is "only" £75. I find the Tara dresses a fair price at £55 - I'm very tempted by the sleeveless olive one - tell me not to do it! Am abroad so no free delivery and returns. The denim skirt also looks nice.

i forgot to update this thread about the Hush portabello top. It arrived and I was shocked at its quality. The material was cheesecloth like and hugely overpriced. I'd have struggled to justify more than £25 pounds for it. It was very cheap looking. I wonder who is writing the great reviews for some of the clothes. Regardless of the price, the quality is so poor for some of them. I recently washed the linen jumper/top I bought. I washed it once in a low cycle and when I was ironing it, there were threads sticking out and it looked old.

I have also wondered who writes all the rave reviews on their website. The v neck slub tee that I ordered is shapeless and looks shit after just one wash, yet it gets 5 stars on the website.

I also wonder why MN seem to flog Hush on their emails etc when threads about them on here say the same thing - overpriced, under quality.
