2 pairs of shoes for a 2 week holiday. WTF?

DP and I are off to the Caribbean for a fortnight soon. Grin I'm already thinking about what I'll be packing. Looking up tips online, many say they only pack 2 pairs of shoes. Really? Do you manage with so few? Does anyone have any good packing tips they would like to share? TIA.

I usually have 3 - flip flops, sandals for evening and something comfortable I travelled in.

I'd take just a pair of poundshop flipflops for the pool/beach and a pair of Superga.

It's not a fashion show but a Caribbean holiday so I think you will spend plenty of time on the beaches where anything more than a flip flop would be too much. Plus sandals, and maybe trainers if you go trekking or hiking.

For a 2 week beach holiday to our usual resort in Greece I'd take 4 pairs - Converse or plimmies to travel in, pair of flip flops for the pool and knocking around during the day, and then gold and silver flat evening sandals.

DH asks why I can't manage like that at home. Hmmm...

I'd say 3 pairs. One on your feet and 2 packed. Trainers for long distance walking and airports, a pair of pool/ beach sandals, and a pair to go out in the evenings.

Usually 2 pairs for me

Hiking holidays. Either walking Boots or walking shoes and something like converse as my other pair

Sun holidays. A really comfy goes with most things sandles that are comfortable to walk miles in if I have to, my current pair are from Top Shop and a pair of flip flops.

City holiday comfortable but smart shoes I can walk in for galleries and a pair of dressier shoes for going out in the evening. I may put flip flops in on this for walking around the accomadation

I travel in toms and take a pair of silver flip flops with me. Can't see the need for anything more.

I wish I could do this. I take a minimum of 5 pairs (usually more) I wouldn't want to wear the same pair every night for 14 nights.

I only own 5 pairs of shoes

black work/casual shoe
Black suede smart block heel
Gold Sandals
Canvas sandals
Winter boots

I have just been to Mexico for 2 weeks and took 5 pairs, so trainers to go in, flip flops, Birkenstocks, and 2 pairs of sandals, that gave me enough variety and happiness!

Depending on the holiday, I mostly wear 1 (trainers or ballet pumps) and take 2.
For that holiday I'd wear smart trainers, take flip flops and sandals. I'd consider heels too (1 pair) if we were doing numerous dressed up nights.

Id take 2 pairs of cheapy poundshop/primarni flipflops for pool. (Spare because they really are cheap!)

Birkenstocks style flipflops.

Pumps or ballet shoes which id travel in

A pair of nice flip flops or sandals for the evening.

so the question is - why do you need 3 pairs of flip flops?

Choose your favourite, and then ask in what occasion/situation would I need to wear another pair apart from my favourites?

I have to say though, my mum would pack the right amount of clothes, work out the sandlas that went with each outfit, and then wera everythign she took. She oftn had 5 pairs (sandals mostly so pack quite flat)

Do you usually come home with loads of unworn stuff, or do you wear everything you take?

I always take too much, but not loads over just one or two things, because I don't want to get to the last day and have no choice.

I wear trainers or sandals I can walk in, pack two pairs of flipflops (they're light and don't take much space, and liable to break) and a nice pair for evening. I'd add water shoes to that as

Beach holiday - flip flops and silver Salt Water sandals for evening in bag and wear a pair of supergas/lace ups if planning on walking/hiring a bike. City holiday - supergas or geox as I can walk for miles in them and flipflops for popping in bag if going to park etc and around hotel/apartment if sunny. For cold winter city holidays, comfy walking boots and either slippers for when back in apartment or Uggs - so nice to slip on when chilly outside and you've been walking all day!

Three pairs max - trainers if doing any 'proper' walking, sandals, flip flops.

I know I don't need to take 3 pairs of flip flops. I know I don't even need to own 3 pairs of flip flops. BlushBlushBlush My shoe collection is an absolute bloody scandal.

I take 3 pairs usually.

I travel in my converse and they cover any sporty/sight seeing type activities.

I have a lovely pair of flip flops that are good for the pool/beach but can also be worn in the evening - I really love them, comfy as anything.

I'd also take one pair of evening sandals with a medium heal.

That's it for me 😀
