I've gone blonde.... now what?

Today i went from medium brown to ash blonde. I love it and am thinking that I should have done it years ago.

My hairdresser said that i dont need to put anything fancy on it, but my blonde friends are going on about deep conditioners and purple shampoo. Do i need any of this and if so, what brands/products should i be looking out for?

definitely invest in some purple shampoo and a good hair mask.

Fudge do a good purple shampoo.

Kerastase cement is a great mask.

Boyes, savers, boots and tesco do a touch of silver which is a good cheap shampoo. Aussie treatments are good too for cheaper alternatives.

Moroccan oil glimmer spray is great for shine.

Purple shampoo is worth getting.

Tigi do a blonde shampoo and conditioner which does a good job of keeping the yellow undertones away.

Joico K-pak range. Brilliant for bleached hair.

Now what? You have more fun obviously Grin
A silver shampoo is essential. I get a toner on my hair most weeks too.

I am waiting for the fun to start Maud... so far ive had to get the washing in and contend with a toddler who wants to stroke my hair and not go to bed Grin

Thank you all for your suggestions

I use the Charles Worthington Ultra Violet shampoo. It's fantastic. Once a week, leave on for five minutes. I use a Redken colour magnetic shampoo before the CW one.

Best of luck Hello at least the toddler still recognises you. I went through a red phase and my youngest cried and wanted her real mummy back, try explaining that to the check out girl in sainsburys. Def get yourself one of those shampoos.

i have a wonderful hairdresser and we talked it through and we got a second opinion from another stylist there before deciding to go for it. What they didnt tell me though was how uncomfortable the colour stripping stage was. Was I glad when that was over!!!!

But to anyone unsure, I say - go for it. You dont like it, change it back

Im only annoyed/worried about 2 things - 1) Ive just cracked open 2 massive bottles of Brilliant Brunette which i now have no use for and 2) im going away next week and my passport pic has me with shoulder length brown hair Hmm

I've had ash blonde hair for a few years now and tried all the shampoos. The best one by far is made by Bleach London Silver shampoo Grin

I use dumb blonde shampoo and conditioner by Bed Head. It's the bomb, and you can often get it from tkmaxx or home bargains.

Purple shampoo is good, I do it about 3 times a month.

Don't use coconut oil to make your hair soft as it'll strip your colour.

It looks gorgeous! I love the colour of it. Definitely not a 'dye it back tonight' job.

EVO is without any doubt the best purple deep conditioner, i've been blonde for 20 years and this visably lifts the blonde when it's getting a little brassy
