I'm a few years off but I'd go to River Island for nice blazers and tops, Oasis for dresses and Topshop or River Island for jeans. Clarks always has nice shoes and boots as do Dune. If I was stating again I'd buy nice skinny jeans in black, charcoal grey and indigo. I'd buy a black and blush pink blazer. I'd also buy some nice tips cream, black and a colour with gorgeous patterns or prints on. I love dresses so a few of those too. For jumpers I'd look in Topshop and maybe M&S!

I go to the personal shopper at John Lewis

BusterGonad Tue 18-Apr-17 18:23:50

Oh and some beautiful tartan or tweedy a line minis worn with roll necks and a beautiful faux fur coat! I'd live to start again! grin

LonginesPrime Tue 18-Apr-17 18:25:27

I would go to Debenhams and House of Fraser to take in what's out there at the moment before committing.

2014newme Tue 18-Apr-17 18:26:44

Tweedy minis aren't really summery though are they

BusterGonad Tue 18-Apr-17 18:31:17

I thought we were talking new wardrobe, not just new summer wardrobe! Sorry 2014 no need to be snappy!

2014newme Tue 18-Apr-17 18:36:03

Shops are not selling rollnecks and tweed skirts 😂 in summer that would be mission impossible unless you head to Edinburgh woollen mill 😂

BoboChic Tue 18-Apr-17 18:37:34

Basics: Cos, Zara, &OtherStories

BusterGonad Tue 18-Apr-17 18:39:38

2014 you've obviously not looked at the Oasis sale online, some lovely tweedy and tartan minis! Your right about the roll necks but they'd still be on my list of essentials! 😂

BusterGonad Tue 18-Apr-17 18:40:26

2014 don't knock the Edinburgh Woolen Mill 🤣grin

2014newme Tue 18-Apr-17 18:41:03

2014 How dare you! I've got my eye on those minis, they are lovely. Anyway who said the Op was going to buy it all now and isn't just looking for a ideas? She's not going to live in summer clothes all year round just because it's summer now!

NotJanine Tue 18-Apr-17 18:46:36

I went round a few clothes shops at the weekend (I'm late 40s mind). Only place I bought anything was H&M.

Don't have the fancier shops mentioned above. Places like top shop and river Island seem really expensive for what you get. I had a brief look in M&S and it was awful. Classic little old lady style.

BusterGonad Tue 18-Apr-17 18:56:54

I feel like River Island has really upped their game lately. I'm loving their blazers and tops! Maybe it's just me!
