Can I dress this down successfully?

I've just bought this blue jumpsuit - because it's gorgeous and fits like a dream. I want to actually wear it and not have it sitting in my wardrobe waiting for a suitable occasion.

Do you think I could successfully dress it down with something like low wedge flip flops and minimal jewellery?

I think with white trainers (adidas Stan Smith for example or even converse) and a denim jacket or utility/cargo jacket it could work for the day.

Was going to say exactly the same as Bounce, white trainers & denim jacket

I have a short pale denim jacket, will try it with that.

Not sure about trainers - I like the look on other people but somehow it doesn't seem to look quite right on me. I have some grey suede Gazelles that I bought recently as my latest attempt to nail the look.

I am tall, getting old and have a new man only a couple of inches taller than me (and prefer not to be too much taller than my date) so would love to be able to nail the trainers look so will give it a try.

Denim jacket is definitely good. So far have tried these silver mules which look good.

Will report back re. trainers...

Maybe try flatforms instead of trainers? Somehow they look a bit dressier than trainers without being dressy, and they will only add about an inch of height if that's a problem.

Trainers not really working for me. Also, not enough height - jumpsuit legs too long.

I think flatforms could be the way to go...

New Look have cheapie ones if it's flatform trainers you're after and don't want to spend a lot. These would go with jumpsuit.

silver

grey glitter

white

Though coming into warmer weather flatform espadrilles might look nice and casual.

I wouldn't do trainers but a denim jacket and flat sandals would look great.
