Thanks to the persuasive power of MN, I have today ordered myself a pair of red SW sandals.

That is all!

Not my thing but enjoy them.

Yay! I got my first pair yesterday also because of Mumsnet but went for silver. I wanted rose gold but none in my size. Hope they are worth the money.

I get them for me and dd. Dd is very harsh on shoes and loves the beach. They stand up incredibly well and are totally worth it imo.

They are amazing. I have a pair that's four years old and still going strong! Wear them and dunk your feet in water on first wear to help them mould to your feet. Enjoy them

ooh nice to read some positive posts!

I was hovering between the red and silver, I really couldn't decide! Only went for the red in the end as I have a couple of sundresses with red in them, plus I am selling my red birkenstocks so wanted to replace them.

So I read that they are ok in water, does the leather perish after a while though?

Are these the ones that are like Menorcan sandals? I got a silver pair and a lovely navy suede pair a couple of years ago. They both ended up slipping down my heels after a few wears. Gutted. Might try getting them wet, see if that works.

The Palmeira samdals? Mine actually came from Cara but are the same ones.

Some of the colours are lovely. I'm not very good with decisions so played it safe but I also loved the blue ones. If I like the silver I might invest in a brighter pair too. I'm excited to try them out. Obvs weather is meant to be crap now 😂

How true to size are these sandals? I'm a large Size 8 and I'm fine with 8s from some places but not all. I really want a pair!!

Report
Nightmanagerfan · 13/04/2017 21:48

The leather is treated for wear in water so they age well

Jillycar I'm a large size 8 too but my feet are really annoying to find shoes for very narrow. ordered 8&9 but am going for 8 as although 9 have more space at the end they are too wide on me. Also, the fitting instructions on the box say they shouldn't be oversized. It's free returns which is why I ordered both sizes.

That's really helpful- thanks to you both!

I brought a rose gold pair last week, they are not massively comfortable at the moment but I am wearing them with socks indoorsGrin
My Palmeiras have also started slipping down on my heels so they are a bit like flip flops.

I bought mine 4 years ago after the hype on here. They were sold out everywhere at the time, selling way over rrp on ebay, and I managed to find a pair in the sale. And I even went back to the store the next again day to buy another pair for my mum! Grin They are still going strong for both of us and I now own three pairs!

To those who already own them: are they not totally flat, with no padding and a thin sole?

How is that comfortable? Genuinely can't see it!

They look uncomfortable. And they are really ugly. I don't get the appeal at all.

I find them super comfortable but really only use them at the seaside .They look like kids shoes.

They are seriously the most comfortable sandals I have ever owned. Mine are 3 years old and still going strong!

They remind me of the mothercare ones I had when I was 5!
