Wish I had a pair of comfy yet stylish sandals which manage to mask my very ugly bunion feet. Waiting patiently for all recommendations 😉

Oh and those Earth Spirit sandals above come in other colours also .. Teal and Red but I think the Natural looks best ..

I dont think the photos on Debenhams website do them justice though. They really are lovely

Well, I like my saltwaters. I had them on today for the first time this year after seeing a friend wearing hers yesterday. Hers are a lovely rose gold colour. She owns a shoe shop and said they were a limited edition but she could have sold 50 times over the amount she had.

Not exciting, but I love my fit flops. Got 2 pairs - black and suede brown. Had them 3-4 years and still going strong. Pretty enough to wear to work (casual office).
Clarke's adventure-style sandals come a heavenly 2nd for comfort for off-road walking.
A pair of Zara sliders in black and bronze for going out.
I find Birkenstocks too flat for any real walking - fine around the house.
Those who go on about Saltwater need their heads examined IMOSmile A paper-thin piece of flat leather with no arch support would be torture for me. I'd feel the impact of the hard pavement with every step.

Have had Earth Spirit from TKMaxx and they were very comfortable with a type of cushioned sole and soft, real leather upper. Would buy again.

Typed in SaltWater Sandal to see if they had moulded sole styles now. Can't see any. Picture here of them from a blog. They wouldn't do anything for me even if they were more cushioned.

I bought some saltwaters last year after reading about them on MN. I liked them (and did keep them) , but yes, they had really, really thin, hard soles. Ok for wearing to work or out with a 50's look outfi,t but not comfortable for the amount of walking I do otherwise.

I wouldnt buy another pair.

Definitely agree with Palmairas, however you must buy a smaller sized as the leather is so soft it stretches.

Oly I was going to go for those Moshulus , (they were on my list) but I got such a good bargain in TKmaxx on the Earth Spirit's that doesnt mean I may not still be tempted if they have a discount late though

I love my Earth Spirit sandals. They look quite dainty but are strong. They will be on their fourth summer this year. I don't wear them often enough to wear them out because we don't get enough good weather round here.

They look like this, and are extremely comfortable.

Those wooden sandals look very uncomfortable. I couldn't imagine walking around a theme park or exploring ancient monuments in them.

I've two pairs of the Moshulu Wasabi sandals that Oly. They are so comfortable. Although they are very flat, the sole is very cushioned.

I also have these cork footbed sandals from Moshulu. They are very comfortable too! www.moshulu.co.uk/m/ladies/sandals/fruit_punch_fuchsia.htm

One of our local shoe shops (now closed down, boo hoo) sold an Israeli make called Naot. They were so comfortable and wore well, and I wish I could locate another stockist. I had a pair with an elastic band slide and a flip flop v-shape that I wore constantly until they fell apart. With a thick cork footbed, topped in suede. The dog's caraccas. Bliss for feet, even in the hottest weather.

Blush I usually just go to Primark and chuck any three styles in my basket and buy them. Or buy one pair, wear them out, walk into the shop 6 weeks later and buy a fresh pair, binning the old ones as I leave.

This year I shall be a Proper Grown Up and buy decent sandals. Once Ive double checked Primark of course.

Iamastonished · 04/04/2017 21:19

My four year old Earth Spirit sandals only cost £20 from ShoeZone, but they are well made and still going strong. I bet wearing out a pair of Primark sandals every 6 weeks would have cost you far more than that.

I'm on the edge of the Pennines and don't get much wear out of mine either. I need sandals that offer support. I can't wear shoes that are completely flat with no arch support, especially if I am sightseeing all day. I don't like clumpy "Jesus" sandals like those hideous Saltwater sandals either. My mum used to wear those in the 1960s and 1970s.

These, Hobbs sandals I've never had anything uncomfy from Hobbs and they go on for years, my last pair of favourite sandals came from there six years ago and are still ok.
