Please can someone recommend a heavy duty foundation?

Price not an issue. I've tried Estee lauder, bare minerals, younquie. I'm quite pale and want to get some samples online. I use a serum which helps. Primer dries me out. I have dry skin with occasional spots. I want heavy duty coverage that lasts all day. I have a real technique brush but struggling to clean it properly!!

Morning. Dior star foundation provides good coverage but also has a lit from within look to it, which you might like if you are dry. I have used it in the past but currently using a different product. Dior are pretty good with samples and will colour match you in store.

Thanks. I'm not sure where one is to me. Not much local to me so was hoping to buy online!

I don't wear foundation but Sali Hughes is raving about Armani Power Fabric, she says its the best full coverage foundation she's seen in 25 years. She's got a YouTube video about it (with comically sad looking model, I clicked on it thinking it was one of my true murder documentaries :) )

I think debenhams offer a service where you choose the foundation and they send a sample at the time of purchase, so you sample it that way and then return the unopened product if you don't like it. It's a bit of a faff though.Grin

Your skin is beautiful!

Sorry I can't add to the discussion but why would you want a heavy foundation to cover up luminous skin like that? I'm jealous. EnvySmile

It's a flattering photo! I'm going to take a more accurate one when I'm home!

Bobbi brown foundation stick is buildable right up to full-on coverage. It's creamy and non-drying. I love mine (I like dewy coverage and it will do that too!).

Do bobbi Brown do samples online?

Clinique beyond perfecting is full coverage but not totally matte so might be good for your drier skin, it might not be fair enough for your skin tone but you could get colour matched at a Clinique counter and they'd probably give you a sample to try.

Type in on Amazon UK: G2PLUS Silicone Brush Cleaner

It is a set of two shaped silicone pads that are brilliant for cleaning cosmetic brushes.
I have some expensive brushes and found these provide a really thorough cleaning method. Quick and portable.
You can buy special brush cleaning fluid, Bobbi Brown for example, but sometimes I just us a couple of drops of baby shampoo.

I find using cheap conditioner works well to shift silicone based make up from brushes. The oils help to break down the product. I'm currently using Aldi raspberry conditioner. It keeps your brushes nice and soft too.

Tried conditioner and warm water on the brushes. No joy!

I've not tried it, because I've not found anywhere to test it, but the Kat Von d lock it foundation is supposed to be heavy duty full coverage. Debenhams sell it in their big stores I think?

Re the brush cleaning, I also use real techniques and used to use their cleaner with the hand pad thingy, but it takes ages. I've been using the Superdrug B brush cleanser recently, spray it on, then clean on an old muslin or piece of kitchen roll. I just spray them and clean them after every use now. It's brilliant.

Op your skin looks fine or you have the right foundation already, that skin doesn't need a heavy base. Confused

It gets a bad rep but Mac studio fix all day!!!

Lasts, is mega full coverage and resists sweat and water. I have dry skin but as long as I moisturise it's fine. I've tried every other full coverage long lasting foundation in the book and keep coming back to it. You can actually feel it dry down onto the skin.

Go to a counter and ask straight up for a sample pot. It lasted me a good few days and I didn't have to buy the full size at the same time

I should say the studio fix fluid not the powder, it's in a glass bottle
