Geeky tattoos!

I love tattoos, am slowly becoming more and more covered...

I've seen some lovely Harry Potter tattoos online and IRL. But I've been looking at more "geeky" ink, star-trek, x-files, that kind of thing. though I'm not sure if I've got the stones to walk into my studio and ask my artist to give me a scifi tattoo

Does anyone have any 'geeky' tattoos? What do people think of them?

dinosaursandtea Sun 02-Apr-17 10:48:50

I LOVE them. I don't have any yet, but most of my friends have tattoos and most of them are geeks. FWIW, there seems to be a high crossover with ink and nerdery, so don't worry about being judged! The ones I have in mind are all literary, but I've definitely considered the Starfleet symbol or something Voyager/Janeway related.

There are so many amazing HP tattoos out there, it just makes me wish I liked the books better!

I knew I couldn't be alone dinosaursandtea ! grin

I have been looking at something x-files related for my sternum...though I love the idea of something Janeway, do you have a design in mind?

A different genre of geeky, but this will be the basis for my next one...

Mine's pretty geeky, though it's words rather than a picture.

I'm considering my second, and that's likely to be pretty geeky too - almost certainly book-related geekery.

BeyondUser that is incredible! Where would you place it?

RemusLupin - is it Potter-related wink

I have the 'Jaws' music tattooed on the back of my neck.

And a Skylander Chompie on my stomach.

And the intro scene from Water ship Down on my leg.

<outs self entirely>

SailAwayWithMeHoney Sun 02-Apr-17 12:18:19

KingJoffreys They sound amazing! I'm intrigued by the Jaws music grin

Remus got a tattoo? Is it a Jane Austen quote? (Must be very long!)
Or "Always"?
How geeky? Star Wars or BSG?

Gizmo79 Sun 02-Apr-17 12:23:17

My new geeky tat done 2 weeks ago, going to have others covered by Vader and Finn.
I am probably going through a midlife crisis but don't care and I love it.

Gizmo79 Sun 02-Apr-17 12:24:40

Photo was taken at the time hence the redness!!

PhilODox Sun 02-Apr-17 12:27:33

Look at the ickle ewok!

PhilODox Sun 02-Apr-17 12:31:43

There are loads on Pinterest, btw, you'll end up wanting to cover your entire body!
The LOTR quote "Not all those that wander are lost" are particularly beautifully interpreted. As Dinosaurs said, i wish i liked the books more grin

BeyondUser24601 Sun 02-Apr-17 12:41:26

On my thigh, sail smile

SailAwayWithMeHoney Sun 02-Apr-17 12:43:32

Gizmo that's so cool! (I too love the little ewok!)

PhilODox I've had a look on Pinterest, that's where I first got the idea of having a sci-fi tattoo. My "ink" board has so many pins grin

I've got loads already that all mean different things; strength, rebirth, peace, beauty, reflection, freedom, finding your way, the semi-colon tattoo, one for a relative, one for my child, and song lyrics. At some point I'll finish my sleeve...but keep finding ideas for other parts of my body!

SailAwayWithMeHoney Sun 02-Apr-17 12:44:05

BeyondUser - love a thigh tattoo! I think that's going to look amazing smile

BeyondUser24601 Sun 02-Apr-17 12:44:12

My sister has a galifreyan tattoo too, can't for the life of me remember what it says though. I have a feeling it's a quote from something else that she translated herself

SailAwayWithMeHoney Sun 02-Apr-17 12:48:39

I like this one - but my sternum is probably too small for it to fit!

Gizmo79 Sun 02-Apr-17 13:00:43

I stole it from someone else in the USA I must admit!
Let's see some more!

SailAwayWithMeHoney Sun 02-Apr-17 13:26:57

Drawn this up (ignore that it's wonky!)

Mama1980 Sun 02-Apr-17 13:32:32

I have a firefly tattoo on my ankle, a small serenity with the words 'still flying'
I love it smile

dinosaursandtea Sun 02-Apr-17 14:27:08

I love all of you and wish we could have a geek sleepover.

Ollivander84 Sun 02-Apr-17 14:30:50

I have two large thigh pieces - about 5hrs for each! One is buffy, one is maya Angelou

Hi Phil. Not a Jane quote, although I was tempted. I ended up going for something short and was glad, because it hurt!

CaoNiMartacus Sun 02-Apr-17 15:36:54

I have an "art geek" tattoo on my wrist - Kasimir Malevich's "Red Square Village". People mostly just ask me "what are those two squares??"
