.. what would you be doing to prepare? Complete S&B novice, don't wear make up or 'do' my hair and have grandma/dorky style despite being young. I am relatively attractive (I think/hope!) but am clueless at making the most of myself. I'm moisturising for the first time in my life to rid myself of dry skin. What other basics would you recommend?

I would be toning up by doing weights and excercise and drinking loads of water. I'd also be on a diet.

But that's me, you sound nice and I'm sure you will look beautiful. I think a confident smile goes a long way :)

Can you book in for a trim of you want hair a bit healthier?

Hair trim is one thing I have done gaaahhhh, and a nice natural colour put in as I had roots down to my chin Blush

I've lost most of the weight I'd like to, but need to tone up my arms. Water intake noted. I'd be aiming for more sleep too but DC are not co-operating.

Thanks for your kind words and advice. I have bad anxiety and just want to do everything I can to feel pretty on the day! Not used to having the attention on me.

Awww :) it's gonna be lovely. How old are the kids? Are they going to be involved and what is your dress like?
do you like vintage ? Could have victory rolls in your hair!

Hi OP, would you like your nails 'done' for the wedding? How about starting to shape them and look after cuticles then book a professional manicure for the big day? I get what you mean, and can relate, if you feel you look fab (which I bet you do anyway, but just a few extras to feel special) then this helps massively with confidence doesn't it?

Get regular facials done to prepare your skin either at home or in the salon. If you cleanse, tone and mousturise regularly and put on a weekly exfoliating facial mask on it will remove your dead skin cells & encourage a healthy glow.

Cut down on sugar, carbs and processed food and increase your water.

I get my legs waxed at the local beauty college by final year beauticians so it's cheaper than a salon wax.

Get a wax done on your underarm, legs, bikini area.. Get your eyebrows tinted and threaded, thread any other facial hair, drink plenty, exercise,..

Moisturise, try makeup go to a big deoartment store and try things or ask one of thr counters for suggestion, get you hair done balayage would be great, your hair would look 'sunkissed' and it is easy to maintain.

My Mum is an ex beauty therapist and hairdresser so I have waxing and hair covered. Those that have mentioned cleansing, I have a few Nivea moisturisers and a foam cleanser, are those ok? And toning, any recommendations? I have very clear skin but it is dry and a bit uneven. I also have blue veins around my mouth which give off a moustachey impression. I don't have one, i wax that off. Anyone have any tips to get rid of that? Make up I'll be having done professionally or at least semi professionally but I want it very light or I won't look like me
Any recommendations for a mask chocolate?

Gosh, I've had two weddings and wasn't thinking about how to prepare like this for either of them 4 months before, or 4 weeks. Tbh 4 days (or so) before both I had my trimmed but that was about it.

Ahh - I've strayed into Style & Beauty haven't I ... this is not my place!

gaaahhhh
They are 4 and almost 1. They'll both be flower girls! Dress is off the shoulder, quite classic lace.

geese I have the tiniest square nails Blush I will get them done with a pretty polish/design though.

squirrels I get that, I'm a nervous person who isn't good at making herself look good and picks flaws in herself, so I wanted to give myself the best opportunity. It is a big wedding too, which I know MN hates but oh well.

In the run up to my wedding I used to have a long hot bath once a week or so where I would put on a face mask and hair treatment, exfoliate and thoroughly moisturise. Also would put foot cream on and regularly file off rough skin.

I regularly pushed my cuticles back and trimmed them.

Left my eyebrows well alone for a few months instead of my monthly threading. Just plucked strays. So when I had them tinted and threaded a couple of days before the wedding they had grown lovely and had more shape.

Cleanse tone moisturise face every night.

Nothing particularly expensive, just little things to make my skin look and feel better really!

I had trials of everything about 8 weeks before my wedding. I wasn't used to any beauty treatments either so I didn't want to find out on the day that I didn't like them.

I left my hair grow long, for an upstyle. I got highlights a week before.
I got eyebrows shaped and tinted a week before.
I got a light spray tan 2 days before. The one I got 2 months before was absolutely fabulous looking, and very natural, but unfortunately the wedding one was too dark and patchy around my fingers which I tried to fix but without much luck. It was the same therapist and tan so just hard luck I think. In hindsight I would not recommend a spray tan.
I also had a makeup trial. I had to really, really insist on a natural look as I think they tend to go heavy on makeup these days.

Drink loads of water, eat well, look after your skin. Good underwear under your dress is vital. My baby was under 1 as well so this was vital for me.

Enjoy and good luck Flowers

Aohibe good to know as I am v pale and was going to get a spray tan. I will just have to try and build a natural burn tan instead!
