Flat espadrilles - stylish answer to the spring shoe conundrum or Cornish pasties on your feet?

Just that really. I have trainers but when it comes to something just a bit less casual for this time of year I'm stuck. It used to be ballet flats but I'm not really in to them now. All my searches seem to end in espadrilles. What's the consensus?

Grin Cornish pasties on you feet.....I like them, but Im a sucker for comfort and flat shoes.

They're basically beach shoes, not very robust for town wear. I found mine made my feet really hot and sweaty if I did try and walk in them very far, and they are rubbish in the rain for obvious reasons.

Or do you mean the non-rope variety, like Toms? Which I know lots of people love but again look too flimsy to me for proper wear.

What about brogues or loafers?

The really flat ones are, well, really flat. I've no idea how people keep them. Long term, I think they'd be incredibly uncomfortable.

Ah, ok, sod it then. Maybe I'd be better with actual pasties.

I'm not keen on loafers. I'm thinking about brogues but I'm just not sure on me.

Maybe I'll go straight for the sandals and accept the frostbite.

OR have some "nice" trainers for lunch out etc?

I had some livemy posh leather ones. The soles got all frayed within weeks Sad

I have leather and ponyskin espadrilles from Manebi that just have the plaited rope around the sole, and they aren't as flimsy as they look, certainly more supportive than ballet flats. I bought both pairs 2 years ago and they are still going strong after a lot of walking around London. Just don't wear them with other things that look too beach-y and I think they are fine for in town.

Trainers wise I've been dithering over these for a while: Adidas

I think I quite like these but I'm not sure if they actually fit my own brief animal
