Skincare recommendations to help clear acne pigmentation

I sometimes get clusters of spots, especially at period time, which always lead to marked pigmentation.

At New Year I started a diet/exercise regimen which seems to have cleared up the spots, I have the odd ones but nowhere near as bad a before. But the pigmentation remains!

What can I use to repair/replenish the skin? Or am I stuck with these marks forever?
