What would you wear?

A 'spring chicken' slogan t shirt?

Have I missed some subtext here?

I'd wear whatever I looked good in that was appropriate for the occasion.

Why would I wear anything else?

Smile

I wanted some advice on what to wear to a 40th birthday party! Haven't got dressed up and been 'out out' for ages.

How smart a occasion is it?
Cocktail dress?
Jeans & naice top?

Any styles you don't like?

Thanks drquin.

It's an evening party - drinks at a nice venue. Dressy occasion rather than jeans/nice top.

Well I'm 37 and a half and I would where wet look skinnys, heels and nice top or maybe a dress depending on where the party was and how formal

I would a short playsuit. I've got a lovely one from Boohoo with a lace back.

Hi OP I tend to go to Ted Baker for occasions like this. This would be the shape of dress I'd wear: www.asos.com/ted-baker/ted-baker-verony-skater-dress/prd/7776884?iid=7776884&clr=Blue&SearchQuery=ted%20baker%20dress&pgesize=30&pge=0&totalstyles=30&gridsize=3&gridrow=6&gridcolumn=3

It's also my colour.

High heels in black.

Which colours and shapes do you like/want to avoid?

Or you could look at Finery - they have 20% off at the moment which seems like a good deal. More fashiony and less high street than Ted Baker.

Oh that Ted Baker dress is LUSH! I look good in that fit and flare style toobut that's way out of my budget ☹️

Dating - it's the sort of occasion where I could wear a dress rather than jeans and a nice top so going to take the opportunity Smile

www.boohoo.com/restofworld/invt/dzz68468?color=black

Is this nice or is there too much going on with the culottes, cold shoulder, off shoulder etc!

I like the top bit but the massive legs are weird.

I'd need to wear a bra so that asos jumpsuit is a no I'm afraid.

No to the dress too.

Will look on asos for a jumpsuit though - thanks.

Posting as I'm 37 and got a glam 40th to attend next week.

I do love a playsuit. That Boohoo one is nice. Am I too old?

No way are you too old! If I can wear one, you can Grin

I'm 38 and would wear my Marvel swing dress and bitch all night about having to wear heels and a proper bra.

Report
HoneyDragon · 20/03/2017 19:31

Or my Navy playsuit with wee foxes on it if I had to be superduper grown up. Then going to the toilet and taking th whole thing off to pee would be added to my bitching reparte along with plaintive wailing at the point I have to break the seal.
