I think your views on the cold shoulder look are pretty mixed!
I have seen this today and love the pattern. What are your views?

It's a bit cowgirl and not for me.

If you like it, go for it.

If you have delicate, slim and narrow shoulders and bird like collarbones you should be fine. If, like me, you have the chubby shoulders of a quarterback then avoid like the bloody plague. I'm not sure I would wear them even if I had the right upper body tho.

I like it-but only when it's really hot. What I don't like is woolly jumpers with cold shoulders or cut out arm-Y bits-because what possible temperature would it have to be to make that a comfortable garment?

I don't know the right words to articulate this Blush. But I really like off shoulder tops if there is a 'neck' to them that isn't too frilly. I don't like the way the fabric falls down straight - it makes it look like it's falling off rather than glam. I like the top in this picture.

I like off-the-shoulder.

Hate cold-shoulder (where it's just holes cut out of the shoulder bit).

See, Dotti is categorising this as cold-shoulder. It's not, IMO - it's off-the-shoulder.

If the wearer looks similar to this in shape then yeah, great. It I'm not a fan of the flouncy ones nor the woollen jumper ones...

I like the off the shoulder (in the OP) and Bardot style. However, I don't like the cut out holes, cold shoulder tops, there's something just awful about them. An irrational dislike perhaps.

Off the shoulder and Bardot styles are fine. Don't like the cold-shoulder look ..... it looks like something's missing.

The pic in the OP I'd class as off-the-shoulder but with bra strap showing (rather than cold shoulder) and isn't a look I like.

But each to their own!

Op if you like it then get it, why not? What's the worst that can happen? Grin

Yep, off the shoulder is different to cold shoulder. The top in the OP is off the shoulder. Nice print.

It depends on the top and the wearer but I'm generally not a fan of cold shoulder. Bit overdone.

Most people look hiddeous in cold shoulders. I agree, if you are very slim and have slim shoulders, collar bone - it should look ok. Otherwise no - avoid. I think cold shoulders just look like trying too hard type fashion tbh.

...and i have yet to see anyone in RL that looks good in that look.

I like it. Both cold shoulder and Bardot necklines.

I do not like frilly additional layers to Bardot necklines though. Far too cowgirl

I love it on others but it just doesn't suit me as I've got broad swimmers shoulders. They're toned but just don't suit this look at all.

I saw a cold shoulder coat the other day. What a useless garment that would be.

I see cold shoulder tops as the ones with the daft holes in the arms, the one you posted I see as off shoulder. Off the shoulder can look nice if you've got the right build, cold shoulder suits no one.
