Footwear... between boots and sandals.

It's finally stopped raining, the sun is out, temperature rising, but it's soon time to put my Fly London knee boots away( I have 3 pairs!) In summer I wear loafers, without socks and sandals, but find the inbetween time difficult. So what do you wear (with jeans) when it's too fine for boots, but not warm enough to shed my socks??

I'm mid 40's so don't think trainers suit me! Also I usually wear slight wedge/heel as I've had previous back surgery and don't find completely flat shoes comfortable. I also need some height😄

I am struggling to find anything I like so I might just use the pumps I already have and hope sandal weather comes asap.

I find Converse slightly too narrow across my toes. My feet are only a four and seem to have got slightly wider after having children.

I go from warm and waterproof knee high boots, to ankle boots, to loafers/brogues, and finally to sandals. I destroyed my sandals last year (i have birkenstocks for leisure but want something different for work) and am at a loss as to what to choose.

I got used to wearing heeled boots during the winter and now am also stuck. I have trainers, which I wear with socks, but I am loving being taller. Ideally would love to find something like the Patrick Cox Wannabe blocked heeled loafers I used to wear in the 90's. But not mega bucks.

I am really struggling to give up the woolly tights. I usually go for long socks under boots and then ankle boots.
I find it a shock to have my legs out and get into shaving them all the time instead of once a week for swimming.

Can I hijack this thread and ask if anyone knows of shoes that look like Converse but offer the comfort of Sketchers?

I love my Sketchers because they are insanely comfortable, but they aren't very pretty. Converse are too flat and unsupportive and my feet would hurt after half a day of wearing them. I have tried insoles but they make them too tight across the toe.

I don't care for brand just comfort and style, although at the moment comfort is taking priority.

Thanks so much for all your suggestions. I'm veering toward ankle boots for moment, so am on hunt for wedge ,ankle boot in tan,navy or beige....hopefully with some height.The search begins....

I jumped straight to loafers without socks this week although am back in boots today. It's so tricky this in between stage. I used to love converse but now that all my jeans are skinny rather than bootcut I just can't wear them without making my pear shaped arse look horrendous.

They are light and gorgeous on the feet, like a second skin and very 'dance shoe'. Know your feet though, they have no support for the feet, mine don't need it.

The real downside is that you have to buy them from the States. But in my opinion, to' worth it.

I am a recent convert to ankle boots. Got two pairs of Lucky Brand suede boots in dark grey and beige. They are perfect for this time of year and autumn too probably. The heel is only 1 1/2 and they are very comfortable.

I also have some nude ballet shoes and trainers.

Iamastonished- and OP- have you tried Fitflops? They are really comfortable and great for bad backs. They come in loads of styles- from boots, ankle boots, trainers, loafers to sandals and of course flip flops. There are lots of pretty sparkly ones and the soles give a bit of extra height.
