Vegan Trainers, or at least man made

DD is now vegan and asked for a pair of trainers for her birthday. She likes what I think are hipster styles, the old style New Balance, Adidas etc, but I can't find anything in the styles she likes that doesn't have at least a bit of leather or suede. Has anyone got any recommendations? Not bothered about glue, not going to go down that route, but need to be totally synthetic uppers.

There's a good blog called En Brogue which focuses only on flat shoes. There are a lot of trainer posts and I'm sure I've seen vegan trainers featured.

I wear Brooks trainers. A friend told me they were vegan x

I'm not sure if they're the sort of thing you're looking for but try Macbeth.

Posted too soon! Macbeth shoes, all vegan I think.

I buy loads of Stella McCartney clothes and shoes, and I'm sure she makes them vegan. She does some awesome trainers.

Yes I was right. I have some of her adidas ones and they are totally vegan. Please excuse the state of them!

Just looked at Macbeth. Can't work out their website, too cool for me!

Good luck with the hunt - my trainers are non branded synthetic ones I'm not sure on the big name ones.

However, you might want to know that doc Martin does vegan boots, might be handy next autumn for your daughter smile

Vegetarian Shoes do quite a range of trainers including old skool styles - what about something like this? (They're also all made in Europe - I'm guessing your dd would probably want non-sweatshop as well.)

I'm sure Esprit sell vegan trainers. They don't have any shops in the UK anymore but they're still online.
