Suggestions for a new leather cross body bag

Hello looking for some suggestions for a leather cross body handbag.
I have just recently decided to sell my Mulberry Alexa bag as its far too heavy for me and generally unpractical.

I begrudge paying Mulberry prices and so I would like to look at other brands.

Does anybody know of any good decent brands with good leather cross body bags?

Fossil are good. I have my eye on one of theirs but the handle strap is not quite right for me.

Fossil are nice, but mine's a Radley. I got mine from the outlet near me. Lots of pockets and not too heavy at all and it's stayed really nice after 18 months of daily use, apart from a small food stain!

Coach, but wait for the sales.

I am a massive fan of gusti leather. (Google:gusti order)

Cheap great quality leather. Cheap as chips.

Admittedly smelt a little bit of animal initially when got out of the bag. Didn't take long for this to go and is getting better with age.

However completely different style to mulberry(!) And may not be your type of thing at all

Jigsaw or Other Stories have lovely ones and I saw a great tan leather one in M&S the other day

I would love a Mulberry Antony bag but they're just too expensive (and heavy).
Have already looked at Jones Bootmaker and I'm not fond.
I'll take a look at Fossil and Radley

Coach have a gorgeous burgundy cross body saddle bag in their 1941 collection. It caught my eye in a department store yesterday. The quality was lovely. I also saw a similar one from Marc Jacobs that was lovely to look at but I felt it was too heavy.

the Gusti bags have caught my eye on Amazon many a time - good to know they are good quality

Is the leather soft/a nice feel? I need my bags to feel good as much as look good!

onceuponatime I'm really tempted by that bag in navy. Is it big enough to carry a (fairly small) laptop?

Another radley here. Have had a couple of cross body ones - worn them out after years! - and currently have a radley fabric one that is like a bottomless pit but doesn't actually look massive.

I'm glad you posted this as I'm looking for something similar now I'm on mat leave. I have an OS Alexa and the straps are so fiddly!

The Coach bag you mentioned burnishedsilver is lush! I'm very tempted to get it in copper:

Coach bags last for ever and get better with wear. Wish I could still afford a new one, but there are bargains when the sales are on.

chishandfips I have the "Claire" for myself and DH has a satchel as a manbag. Ive only tried the "nature" range so far as it fits best with my style.

The leather is proper actual real leather rather than the plasticky stuff you can get on the high street. My bag is more structured so not really soft as such but the soft bits and DH's bag creases and gets patina . It is a natural look so not perfectly even in tone- but I like it like that.

As I said upthread my bag did smell a bit animally for the first few weeks ( DH's didnt for some reason). However it soon went if I aired it and has lasted daily use nearly 2 years and is getting better with age. The lining is not exciting at all ( plain dark green). However £35 for an atual proper leather bag is great value i think.

Im currently considering an overnight bag or two :)

Depending on what style you're after, & other stories do lovely leather bags.

APC Demi-lune. Super chic and not too expensive (compared to a mulberry).
