Semi permenant lashes ?
(14 Posts)I'm loosing eye definition and due to my age ( 50 s) don't want to wear heavy eyeliner and was wondering if semi perm lashes may add definition ?
Was watching a trinny woodhaul you tube that suggested they can be good but care must be taken to get good practitioner as it can ruin eyelashes ? How wd I know if someone was good / using good technique . ? I really don't want to ruin lashes ! Thanks .
Bump
Hopeful bump
I had some a few months ago, and they looked really good for about 6 weeks IIRC. Lashes weren't great when I had them removed though, so would only consider for special occasions now.
And I don't know how you would spot a good technique tbh. Reading between the lines, the beautician did kind of indicate they aren't really a long term option.
Thanks
Look for eyelash extension. These are glued into the eyelashes and look marvellous. You need to keep topping them up every 3 weeks though. I love them!
But you need to avoid oil-based eye products as the oil will melt the glue and the lashes (the extensions, not your real ones!) will fall out.
I loved the first time I had my eyelash extensions, they stayed on for about 3 months! I always looked awake and it took minutes to do make up!
They can go a bit wonky as new lashes grow through or the lashes they are attached to grow, but it's ok if you comb through every morning and night.
Don't use oil based cleanser and remember to wash them ( baby shampoo on a cotton pad was suggested to me )
The only thing that I will say though, is the last time I had them ( my fourth ) my lashes were not in a good way after they came off, really short and thin, so I am giving it a break and using rapid lash to try and get them back to normal again!
They sound fab !
Am worried re impact on real lashes tho - does everyone experience thinner lashes after use of these?
My lashes are very thin after having these unfortunately.
They do look great though.
I don't rate them at all.
I've had them done a few times for special occasions and they look great for the first week if you're keeping them dry but as they grow out they go wonky and sparse and it's very obvious up close they're false.
They irritate and can can scratch you eyeball.
I've had lash extensions continuously for the past 8 years with only a few weeks without them in that time. Done correctly, they don't damage your lashes
I love them but wouldn't have them all the time. They look fab but I find they always make my own lashes slightly weaker and maintenance every three weeks is too much faff. Even my absolutely fantastic beautician says she doesn't recommend them for permanent use. Holidays, a few months maybe but I find I need a break from them.
My beautician recommended an eyelash tint and perm recently. It's not as spectacular as falsies but I tried it and really liked it.
