If you're large, wrong side of 40 and invited to a wedding.............

What do you wear please?!?

I'm currently wearing a size 20 but a horrible, awful shape. Legs are decent enough but I'm like a barrel with massive chest and stomach thanks to three massive babies Blush

Dresses don't work as they just hang off my chest. I don't have a waist decent enough for a 'wide belt' etc I normally resort to tops and trousers.

My weight is on the way down but won't be a massive difference in time for this very short notice wedding which I've been asked to have a role in.

Any and all suggestions welcome please. I always ALWAYS seem to get it so so wrong Sad

cigarette trousers and structured top

I know you don't like dresses but have a look at coast plus

I'm more likely to go with trousers and the top thanks lucked

The dresses are nice but not really my style so I wouldn't wear them again. I'm a tad reluctant to spend £100+ on something that will just sit in a wardrobe.

I wore a dress to the last two weddings I was at and they've never seen the light of day again since.........

I'd forgotten Coast do a plus size. River Island have started as well as Mango too. Thank you Smile

Is a very formal do? Big? Small? Hats required?

This jump suit is very simple but lovely (also in teal). Would take strong accessories really well. I'm not sure what colours you like.

Phase eight do a plus size range too called Studio 8. A top and trousers sounds like your best option OP, especially if you might wear it again.

I think this would look pretty with trousers for a summer wedding.

notMarlene not big - quite the opposite. Only the couple and two witnesses, of which I am one.

No hat etc but I live in work clothes so am clueless really.

I already own a jumpsuit exactly like that which I LOVE from the front but as soon as I turn to the side it's horrendous. I also have the terror of going to the bathroom - there will be fizz after the ceremony and after three babies.................. Blush

I'm really crap at choosing my colours too - I've always wanted to have my 'colours done' lol I live in black and have only recently started branching out into an occasional colour.

I forgot about Phase8 fingermoose thank you. I rarely have reason to wear 'occasion wear'!!

I bought this today for a party. m.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_120010815460_-1. It would be great for a wedding with black jeggings etc.

I have a few dresses from Joe Browns plus that I bought for occasions and now wear to work. Might be worth a look.

I keep holding off in the hope that if I keep going the way I'm going I might be nearer an 18 as that opens up so many more options.

However I seem to be loosing my fricking weight off my feet and hands etc FFS because naturally my boobs & belly aren't the places I need it off most Hmm

Is it wrong to plan an outfit round a pair of shoes?!?
