Size 18-20 work out clothes...

Going to the gym in the first time forever tonight, for a class. I'm nervous and worried because I'm fat and unfit, so I'm going to boost my confidence with a few new workout outfits.

Where would be best for stuff? Cheap, high street preferably. There's the big 3 supermarkets near me, Primark, Sports Direct...any of them any good?

And what should I get? Want to be covered but as un-frumpy as possible.

I am your size and have stuff from Primark I am sure Sainsbury's is as well for clothes. Not sure on Sports DIrect. I only bought sandals from them.

Enjoy yourself!

I recently bought some great gym gear in Sainsbury's. Good quality and value for money.

I bought size 18 leggings from SD and they seem to come up small :/

I noticed B&M had a work out range the other day - will report back on the fit!

ASDA do gym gear. Not sure what size it goes up to but I've got 16/18 running leggings which are brilliant. Good luck with your class. The first step is always the hardest.

Tesco is fab for our size range - I know you said high st but it can be ordered online

Asda everytime

OK, got a couple of Primark bits.

This nervousness is ridiculous. I'm an adult.

Go to sports direct and get some cheap branded gear - the leggings especially are worth buying nike or similar, much better material for stopping the wobble than the thin supermaket ones! Some 3/4 length leggings and a loose fitting tshirt in good, breathable material will make you look great and feel comfy.

I got my gym clothes from Sainsburys, they fit well and are comfortable.

I've mentioned it on threads a lot, but the Panache nin wired sports bra is wonderful. A good bra at the gym makes a big difference.

Have a look online at Fabletics. You can get good quality stuff at very good price for first buy if you join VIP list. Just remember to cancel it or they charge you monthly.
