I'm 5ft 1 and 9 and half stone. Short legs. Big bum and tummy! Want a nice dress I can wear to go out for meals etc am late 30s. Thanks

Do you want a full length evening dress or a shorter cocktail style dress? Any colours you prefer?

Braceybracegirl Sat 18-Feb-17 19:57:46

Probably black or something dark ish. Not sure re length, don't normally do full length as I'm short! Might need shoe and bag recommendations too thanks.

Put on some spanx for tummy and bum then try some dresses on. I find independent shops rather than department stores are far more helpful.

What sort of budget? Are you after sleeves?

I'd not recommend spanx for any event when you'd expect to be mainly sitting or having a meal. They give a lovely finish but it's not worth having the enjoyment of your evening ruined, absolutely not. They are great for some events though, certainly worth having.

Budget up to 100 pounds. probably need sleeves as my arms are flabby.

x post. 100 with shoes / bag / jewelry or for just the dress?

Braceybracegirl Sat 18-Feb-17 20:13:38

100 just for dress as a maximum

Braceybracegirl Sat 18-Feb-17 20:14:34

Oh sorry no don't like those dresses, want something glamorous, possibly sparkly!

measles64 Sat 18-Feb-17 20:23:13

do you have a nice waist, so would you consider a fuller skirt, are you full or small breasted?

measles64 Sat 18-Feb-17 20:24:15

you have told us your bad points in your opinion what are your good points.

Braceybracegirl Sat 18-Feb-17 20:24:56

I've got quite big boobs. My waist is non existent sad

Braceybracegirl Sat 18-Feb-17 20:25:45

I've got nice legs. Small wrists. I'm not overweight really. Got nice cleavage.

measles64 Sat 18-Feb-17 20:42:04

You may have said this before but what size are you?

Casmama Sat 18-Feb-17 20:47:14

This?

WilburIsSomePig Sat 18-Feb-17 20:55:41

Do you want a straight skirt or flared or are you happy to have a look at either?

measles64 Sat 18-Feb-17 21:01:56

well in the absence of size I have gone for black with and without sleeves up to £100 price wise.

Braceybracegirl Sat 18-Feb-17 21:21:07

Sorry size 12

Braceybracegirl Sat 18-Feb-17 21:23:33

The phase eight dress is gorgeous bit probably far too clingy. Like the John Lewis dresses particularly m.johnlewis.com/precis-petite-lenne-stripe-lace-detail-dress-black/p/3129412

I'm happy to look at straight or flared skirts.

A friend of mine wore this to an event a couple of weeks ago with navy heels and bag. She looked fantastic.

Oh that's pretty but my arms are probably too fat!!
