Piercing people-is this a thing?

I'm fancying a second ear piercing, but I want it really high on my lobe_ in fact about level with the ear hole, so it's through flesh not cartilage. Ive looked on diagrams and it doesn't have a name. Will I get laughed at?

Laughed at? No! But go to a proper piercer, and they'll take a good look at the bit you're talking about... Take their advice! Where you're describing, on my ear, through the soft part would be too close to the edge of my ear to support the piercing. They'd have to pierce it a bit further in, through the cartilage to avoid it growing out. The piercer should spend time talking to you about the effect you want, drawing dots on your ears to give you an idea what they can achieve. What've you got to lose?

I don't know what you mean, if it's high up and level with the ear hole itself then surely it will be through cartilage not flesh?

It would be flesh on my ear- but there wouldn't be a lot to work with. I guess it would be an upper lobe piercing if you want a name for it. Do go and see a proper piercer to chat about it- not Claire's!

I've had that done! It is through the skin, not the cartilage. It has settled really well and with none of the pain. My piercer calls it a pixie but I'm not sure if that is the real name or one she made up Grin

Not my ear but this is what I am talking about. Not through the cartilage.

You can get lobe done with a gun. If it's cartillidge you need to go to a specialist shop like a tattoo studio. Have fun!

I've had one done recently at Maria Tash in Liberty, it's through cartilage, hurt at time but been fine since and was only a month ago.
You can go all out but I work in Banking so didn't want a too crazy location if you know what I mean!

Just above the ball on the orbital. I've got a distinct ridge of non cartiglious flesh and there is a neat upside down v that is crying out for a hole. I've also got a second lobe piercing that never took (always pussed up, never healed properly) so I might get that re done.
And don't worry I'm going to my friendly tatt parlour.

I have 5 piercings in my left ear, starting at lobe and going up with even spaces. Bottom 3 are lobe then my 4th where you want yours is cartilage. Go someone decent that uses a needle and just say you want your left/right ear pierced and point to where. They'll draw a dot in and you can decide if you're happy or want it moving.
