What foundation do you wear?

I'm currently using Estée Lauder's liquid double wear and have been really happy with it, great coverage and really long lasting but my skin has been quite dry recently not sure if it's the heavy formula? And in contrast to my quest for great coverage I think I might want something a bit dewier for spring.

What do you use and would you recommend? I'm going to John Lewis's tomorrow so would appreciate the advice before I fall for the first sales pitch I hear!

I use No7 Lift and Luminate. I like it because its not heavy and it gives good coverage.

I haven't tried it but on a similar thread urban decay's naked skin (I think...) got a lot of up votes as a fresher alternative to DW. I'm trying it as soon as I can establish my shade.

I have gone back to Elizabeth Arden the one with the sponge that you can dampen if you wish. It seems to be working very well my skin does look dewy.

Forgot to say I am also using a battery operated sonic type cleansing brush which I think also helps in the winter. Cold weather and central heating play havoc with my skin. I use it in the shower when I remember.

Measles that foundation sounds like quite hard work in the morning but interesting to hear about the cleansing brush I've always been tempted but never got round to it..

Phoolani that's interesting I have their setting spray which is really good, do urban decay do samples do you know?

I am currently using a Nars one since Clinque withdrew my fav. I got some of their translucent white powder stuff and I like that - keeps it on all day. Loads to cleanse off at the end of the day.

I have very dry skin and am currently rotating between:

Urban Decay One and Done - lightweight coverage for good skin days
MUFE HD - medium weight, good buildable coverage and very dewy
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser - very moisturising, dewy, medium weight
Armani Luminous Silk - gorgeous texture, dewy and good coverage, mainly for going out or if I don't want to re-touch.

Doublewear Light is great - none of the drying effect of traditional doublewear.

I've tried Nars concealers before and thought they were really good - very blendable so might have a look at their counter tomorrow.

Liefie Armani sounds like a contender too - do I want to know the price?!

Fenella I didn't know they did a lighter formula!! Is it still good coverage?

^ I would recommend both. I use the latter when I am having a dry patchy day. I use Benefit Porefessional with them both and Bobby Brown Creamy under eye duo pot thing under my eyes and Collection £4 job anywhere else that needs it.

I used doublewear for ages but found it dry after a while too!
With low funds I took a gamble on maybelline superstay better skin and it does the job wonderfully! Top it off with a smidge of hello flawless powder from benefit and it looks just as good as doublewear/dior powder ever did for less than half the price. Also no dry skin!

I wear Double Wear for all-nighters but Chanel Les Beiges mixed with Charlotte Tilbury's Wonder Glow for every day because it's so light and easy even if my skin's misbehaving with the weather.

I also have Armani Luminous Silk but only wear it on fancy occasions because it's so beautiful.

If you use ELDW it's so much better if you use EL's Idealist underneath. Alone I find ELDW just makes my imperfections more noticeable (I have largish pores and an oily nose/forehead) but with Idealist it really makes a huge difference and my skin looks flawless. It's a con, though, because it's ridiculous to have to buy something to make your foundation sit right. It should improve the look of your skin regardless.

Yes, it's pretty good - it's not full full coverage but it's nice and even. I use it over a BB cream, and it's great - it never feels like I have a heavy face of make up on.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who struggled with dry skin on double wear I thought it might of been me not looking after my skin properly!

Some great suggestions here thanks everyone I might try to be strong tomorrow and try a couple out without feeling guilted into buying!

Reckon Colourstay is supposed to be as good as ELDW without being as drying.

I actually treated myself today to the Revlon colorstay primer and foundation (plus lipcolour) and love it!! Stayed on for hours after applying at lunchtime

Dior capture totale is my absolute favourite but I have in fact run out whilst on mat leave so making do with bourjous healthy mix atm. Its not at all bad although not a patch on the Dior.

I never got in with ELDW though. Found it to be very mask like and yes, drying.

Benefit oxygen wow, but I mainly wear rimmel insta flawless. It's only £5 and is actually a primer/tinted moisturiser and only gives light coverage. In the summer I don't wear any foundation just a sweep of colour correcting pearls over my face.

I've recently bought the Touché Eclat foundation and am really pleased with it.
It's quite dewy but with good staying power.

Clarins - skin illusion

Doesn't feel like you're wearing foundation once it's on. Gives a stunning glow to the skin. Such a beautiful foundation and best for normal to dry skin. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Remember you can always go to a couple of counters and ask for samples.

Also gives a good coverage, if applied with a brush or sponge, without being cakey.
