Oooh = watching with interest - I need new wellies and don't object to patterned ones, but haven't seen any I like!

lol

I have aigle parcours wellies

they cost £100 8 years ago and are still going strong

they are totally totally ace - they are like a walking boot/welly - essential if you do as much off road muddy walking as I do

can HIGHLY recommend

I would wear second hand parcours

mine are 8 years old, I have worn them throughout the winter and autumn every year and they are as good as new (well mine are scratched and mudstained but you know what i mean)

believe me if you do a lot of walking they are worth it

Well, if you are not tempted by poncey French £100 ones, Lidl have them next Monday for £5.99 Lidl wellies

I am a serious country dweller

I click my fingers in the face of 5.99 wellies

dh buys some every year from the farm shop for £8

so he has spent about £80 on boots since we have been here

go to your nearest large garden centre - they should have loads there!

Check for the thickness of the sole and the outer bit - nothing worse than thin wellies - they are crap for walking (and getting cold feet!).

Oh, I know - you have ishoos with Mud. I have cheap ones which I got on ebay - they have green flowers on them. But it's OK because I only wear them when I am camping. I look so stylish when dashing to the loo at 6am in my pyjamas, wooly hat and green flowery wellies.

Sorry Martha moo - but I will not be going into Lidl ever...

I think I need something inbetween the £100 and £8.00 but hey if I can get the £100 for half that then I will be happy..

re 2nd hand - it says she only wore them 3 times and they do look in pretty nick..

Next question - as obviously a gamble not trying them on myself - do you go up half a size for wellies? or did I imagine that..

I am normally a size 6...

I would get the right size tbh

although having said that I bought a 7 in my wellies and I was only a 6.5 8 years ago (am 7 now - thats what three kids will do to you )

You're welcome surfermum - I like the pink ones

Have to admit that they don't look bad! and look like they have a cut out bit - so could handle fat calves!

But, still think I need something bit more tougher, and thicker sole.. (more grip etc)..

Think I might just bid on the aigle parcours and see how I do...

If they don't fit - I can always but them back into ebay to sell (might even make a profit)...

Cheers for all your help...
