I need something that I can walk in all day but more stylish than a pair of trainers. I want something with a bit of style .... tried on a few but all look like old lady shoes on me (I am quite old)

Any suggestions please?

Doc martens. Once you break them in they're so comfy and I think they suit all ages.

Have you tried Fitflop? They make loads of fab styles now, not just flip flops. They are quite expensive but last really well and they have good sales. I don't wear any other shoes now, I have their boots, trainers, Mary Janes, sandals.... you get the idea! They are so comfortable and really smart.

I love Shoe Embassy - super cute shoes and really comfortable. Only problem is that their sizing can be a little inconsistent and they don't do free returns (and only have a couple of brick and mortar stores). Still, worth it for style and quality - and comfort!

Another vote for Docs. Look good on whatever age. DD wears them as does DM (age difference of about 60 years).

Another huge recommendation for the EnBrogue blog - its totally fab

Clarks have some really lovely flats. Their Hamble Oak brogues come in all sorts of colours and are almost as comfy as trainers

ZaZa, they are nice, I like the red /orange stripe

OMG thisfalseinsight, I've just had a look on the Shoe Embassy website. Tons of gorgeousness and very good prices for genuine leather. Thanks for the tip! buries wallet in a pit

I always wear flat shoes. My favourites are Grenson, Yokono and Art Company. My style does veer towards the Scandwegian art teacher though.
