Where does one get lovely, timeless jewellery?

I never wear jewellery, other than my wedding and engagement ring and occasionally a watch, if I remember to put it on.
In my head the grown-up and polished me has a trio of necklaces that she can wear alone or separate, a pair of small stud earrings and a tennis bracelet for special occasions as well as a tasteful eternity ring.
The tennis bracelet and eternity ring can wait. But I would like to make a start on the necklaces. I'd like
A teeny one on a 16" necklace that would sit in the nape of my neck
A longer one, possibly with a bar, it would be visible over a shirt if buttoned up, or under a shirt if the top couple buttons were undone
A longest one, I've recently had a thought that I'd love if this was inscribed in ogham. I'm not sure what exactly I'd get on it.

I'd like these in silver. I'm allergic to fake stuff and can't afford platinum. I've seen a teeny one I like but it's only £16 - surely that would indicate that it's not going to be a keeper?

Does anyone have any suggestions for sources? Or know any good independant jewellers in or around Newcastle that would have something a bit different from the highstreet? I don't want anything overly trendy.

I mentioned that I can't afford platinum because my wedding and engagement rings are platinum and I haven't had a reaction to them.

I tend to get all my jewellery from Etsy these days as I like unusual and unique pieces. A lot of the sellers take commissions too, and I've had a lot of success having things designed and made.

Have you been to John Lewis they sell a lot of inexpensive classic pieces of proper jewellery as well as the normal costume jewellery
Tiffany prices are not high for basics

I don't think they're ugly on. My friend has one with her kids names on that's lovely but it's all subjective.

Not on the high street has nice ones with vertical bars, more like slim cuboids or ones with little discs that can be personalised and more or less added.

I love Georg Jensen as well. Look at the prices on ebay for older models, they seem to easily retain the original costs, people collect it I think. I have a year necklace (they bring out a new one each year), got it more than 10 years ago and I wear it all the tim, sleep, shower, swim, on the beach etc.... No problems with the chain and it's also comfortable.

I'm liking Georg Jenson, but it's not love. Similar to Stella and Dot, almost right but not quite.

I regularly have a snoop in John Lewis, including at their pawned vintage range, they have never set my heart aflame.

MiddleClass it being personalised isn't the most important thing to me. The ability to be personalised would be nice, but not a deal breaker. I'm mostly looking for really simple pieces,

Maybe ask if any local jewellers would do it? I've bought an ear climber from etsy and the quality is great. As long as you know you are getting silver then I reckon it's ok.
