What is your favourite SLS free shampoo?

I used to be fairly loyal to dr organic aloe shampoo. But the last bottle I bought was really runny and watery. So I seem to be using lots more than I used to to wash my hair.

Time for a change! :)

What do you recommend?

I avoid sls because it dries my skin out and makes me itch like mad! Blush

Faith in nature, they smell wonderful.

Body shop rainforest is going down well here. I recently changed from Aubrey organics rosemary which was also good but expensive.
We tried ogx or whatever that used to be organics but it's got something so similar to SLS that we all itched like mad.

I'm currently using the following SLS free shampoos -
Yes 2 Carrots
Boots Botanics Intensely Hydrating shampoo (but upsettingly think this may have been discontinued?)
And my current favourite ORS Curls Unleashed rosemary and coconut shampoo. Don't know whether you've got curly hair or not or whether that matters but I love the smell and lather you get with this!

I just used Dr Organic (the coconut one) and have to say it was no where near as good as Faith in Nature.
I couldn't find Faith in Nature anywhere near me last time I looked. must try again.
I used to use the boots Naked range which I loved, but seems to be gone.
I avoid Yes to Carrots for ethical reasons.

I was using Liz Earle but said on another thread that I thought they'd changed the formulation and my hair was really lank and awful. However, I continued using it even though I'd bought a replacement at the hairdressers and my hair was fine, so I put it down to the very cold weather we had and hair having needed a cut.

Well. Today is really cold. And my hair is looking really lifeless again! So it obviously is something to do with really cold temperatures.

So I think I can recommend Liz Earle after all and even with the reformulation.

I alternate between these two as they're both for coloured hair. I prefer the L'Oréal one tbh.

I usually use Tara Smith and buy them from EBay. If I want to treat myself (or have vouchers!) I get some Aveda.

My hair is not coloured and fairly thick so don't need to consider those issues (it is going grey tho)

I've tried faith in nature and yes to carrots - I didn't like either - yes to carrots made me itch/ stung my eyes I think. And I can't remember why I didn't like faith in nature- but I didn't finish half the bottle before I moved on.

bluebelle - glad it's not just my imagination about it being too watery!

waterbelle - what's the ethical reason? I had assumed they were ok as brands go. Think they have the no animal testing logo 😬

@Squirrelfruitandnutkin Didn't agree with Israel human rights, and have boycotted all Israeli products for a few years now. I also noticed they changed their products stamp from "Made in Israel" to Made in US and tried to hide the fact, somewhat immoral in my opinion.

I'm really liking NOAH shampoo and conditioner at the moment. I bought them at Wholefoods. My hair is coloured and on the dry side.

I've also tried Purelolgy at my friend's house and it's lovely. Foams up well for an SLS free shampoo.

I used to love Shea Moisture shampoo and conditioner but the coconut oil makes my scalp break out. So I've moved over to Green People Daily Aloe Shampoo and Intensive Repair Conditioner which are good.

DH and I are both super sensitive to SLS and parabans, and haven't had any problems with the OGX range...

Not sure what effect it would have one others though
