Dear God M&S seriously now?

I have £35 in gift vouchers to spend so thought I'd peruse the new stuff

What is this monstrosity??

If I'm a flamboyant type looking for a flamenco style dress to dance the night away in - why oh why would I want it in Khaki??

Dear God M&S seriously now?

I saw that when browsing stuff for the other thread. It truly is one of the most hideous things I've ever seen.

I wonder if they have actually sold one? Even the model looks shit in it.

It just makes no sense - have they over ordered the khaki fabric and thought a ha! we can use lots up on this design?

It's for stealth flamenco dancers. They sneak up behind people and kill them with heart attacks induced by their sudden cries of 'olé!'

Obviously.

Ok. I was defending them on the other thread but when I see that I can only hold up my hands.

It looks like something constructed during the darkest days of the Second World War, from whatever spare fabric could be found. But even they would have said, fuck it - someone's going to have to go without butter for two months so we have enough coupons to buy more fabric.

With a lovely matching jacket too Rosa!

And one of the few dresses that are 100% cotton!

It's wrong in so many ways
The collar is too wide
The sleaves are weird
The front ruffle is wrong
The cross neck prob gapes and flashes your bra as soon as you sit down.

OMG those trousers look like someone's front room curtains.

From the 1970's I forgot to add.

Even the model looks embarrassed.

Spudlet · 04/02/2017 18:19

Holy shit, Rosa. I can't even begin to think what they're for, but I wouldn't turn my back on anyone wearing them Shock

That dress might actually be the worst thing I have ever seen in M&S.

No, scratch that, the trousers are even more horrific.

Dear God - there's a matching jacket!

It's bad but it's not as bad as that leather Alexa Chung monstrosity from last year. That still wins.

Those trousers!!! I'm starting to think anyone I see who is very badly dressed must be employed by m&s as a buyer, as their buyers clearly have shocking taste. I mean who looks at those items and thinks "nice, they'll sell well". Do the buyers bosses never have a look at that shit and think "WTAF".

That stuff does not get you good media attention, it gets you bad attention that drives customers away. Who are they appealing to? I'm 47 it's not me, my daughter is 19 it's not her. And I'm fairly sure it's not folks in their twenties and thities. Or their fifties sixties or seventies and beyond.

🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

DD1 (21) has some insane trousers a bit like those ones, but is size 8 and 17 feet tall with the legs of a gazelle. Her trousers are hideous, but she somehow makes them work.

Are you sure it is fabric? Looks like it could be wood?

That khaki dress looks as if someone reused a bed valance of the sort my mother was rather keen on, c. 1980.

Grim.

And the trousers. Bleurgh. I too have an M&S voucher. It'll have to go on knickers.

Badcat666 · 04/02/2017 18:47

Mmmmm that dress... going to crease like a mother and can you imagine ironing that horror?? And if it looks shit on the model what is it going to look like on the average woman?! Much ruffles....

And what the fuck is it with those trousers?? Have they found some horrendous 1970's fabric at the back of a warehouse and decided to save money by reusing the musky rolls?

My eyes... I need eye bleach!!
