I have £35 in gift vouchers to spend so thought I'd peruse the new stuff

What is this monstrosity??

If I'm a flamboyant type looking for a flamenco style dress to dance the night away in - why oh why would I want it in Khaki??

RemusLupinsChristmasMovie Sat 04-Feb-17 16:13:21

I saw that when browsing stuff for the other thread. It truly is one of the most hideous things I've ever seen.

Bluntness100 Sat 04-Feb-17 16:15:23

I wonder if they have actually sold one? Even the model looks shit in it.

Chocolateteabag Sat 04-Feb-17 16:18:20

It just makes no sense - have they over ordered the khaki fabric and thought a ha! we can use lots up on this design?

Spudlet Sat 04-Feb-17 16:23:27

It's for stealth flamenco dancers. They sneak up behind people and kill them with heart attacks induced by their sudden cries of 'olé!'

Chocolateteabag Sat 04-Feb-17 17:02:56

spudlet grin

GoofyIsACow Sat 04-Feb-17 17:04:25

Those shoes ffs! I am sorry I do not get those shoes as a trend... fecking terrible!
And the dress...

Floisme Sat 04-Feb-17 17:05:38

Ok. I was defending them on the other thread but when I see that I can only hold up my hands.

tribpot Sat 04-Feb-17 17:05:49

It looks like something constructed during the darkest days of the Second World War, from whatever spare fabric could be found. But even they would have said, fuck it - someone's going to have to go without butter for two months so we have enough coupons to buy more fabric.

Rosa Sat 04-Feb-17 17:08:02

I must admit I did a double take at this ....

pishedoff Sat 04-Feb-17 17:39:35

With a lovely matching jacket too Rosa!

Lucked Sat 04-Feb-17 17:55:51

And one of the few dresses that are 100% cotton!

Glitteryfrog Sat 04-Feb-17 18:07:47

It's wrong in so many ways
The collar is too wide
The sleaves are weird
The front ruffle is wrong
The cross neck prob gapes and flashes your bra as soon as you sit down.

Janey50 Sat 04-Feb-17 18:17:14

OMG those trousers look like someone's front room curtains.

Janey50 Sat 04-Feb-17 18:18:07

From the 1970's I forgot to add.

BeverlyGoldberg Sat 04-Feb-17 18:19:21

Even the model looks embarrassed.

Spudlet Sat 04-Feb-17 18:19:48

Holy shit, Rosa. I can't even begin to think what they're for, but I wouldn't turn my back on anyone wearing them shock

ArriettyClock1 Sat 04-Feb-17 18:20:42

That dress might actually be the worst thing I have ever seen in M&S.

No, scratch that, the trousers are even more horrific.

Dear God - there's a matching jacket!

JennyHolzersGhost Sat 04-Feb-17 18:23:11

It's bad but it's not as bad as that leather Alexa Chung monstrosity from last year. That still wins.

Bluntness100 Sat 04-Feb-17 18:25:29

Those trousers!!! I'm starting to think anyone I see who is very badly dressed must be employed by m&s as a buyer, as their buyers clearly have shocking taste. I mean who looks at those items and thinks "nice, they'll sell well". Do the buyers bosses never have a look at that shit and think "WTAF".

That stuff does not get you good media attention, it gets you bad attention that drives customers away. Who are they appealing to? I'm 47 it's not me, my daughter is 19 it's not her. And I'm fairly sure it's not folks in their twenties and thities. Or their fifties sixties or seventies and beyond.

PickAChew Sat 04-Feb-17 18:38:32

Looks to be made out of recycled cabbage.

Bluntness100 Sat 04-Feb-17 18:38:44

What about these little beauties.,😱

RemusLupinsChristmasMovie Sat 04-Feb-17 18:39:10

DD1 (21) has some insane trousers a bit like those ones, but is size 8 and 17 feet tall with the legs of a gazelle. Her trousers are hideous, but she somehow makes them work.

Chickenagain Sat 04-Feb-17 18:39:58

Are you sure it is fabric? Looks like it could be wood?

LumelaMme Sat 04-Feb-17 18:43:14

That khaki dress looks as if someone reused a bed valance of the sort my mother was rather keen on, c. 1980.

And the trousers. Bleurgh. I too have an M&S voucher. It'll have to go on knickers.
