Super shoppers - can you help me recreate the 'feel' of this outfit?

I'm going to a masquerade ball (not for another month, but don't want a last minute panic!).

I really love the scene at the mask from Ever After, and that's the sort of outfit I'm hoping to recreate - but in a classy / not fancy dress kind of way if that makes sense?

There's a lot of really nice wings on etsy, but I'm struggling to find a dress that fits the 'feel'.

Thanks :)

What's your budget? And can you post the wings you're looking at getting?

I love that dress and film! There is a label called Needle and Thread and they have some long sleeve beaded dresses. However they don't have that lovely empire line like the movie costume. Maybe you could go to a bridal store and get a simple empire line dress and put a beaded bolero over the top?

My budget is as cheap as possible... but probably up to £100 if I really love it.

I'm leaning towards these wings

But that shop have a lot of really nice ones.

Some of those Needle&Thread dresses are stunning, but sadly well out of my budget.

What size are you?

eBay may be your best bet. Are you any good at sewing, as you could get a basic dress and other bits to get it looking more similar?!

Oooh some of these are so pretty!

I'm definitely thinking embellished evening gown, rather than fancy dress.

I'm a size 12, but I've just found the maya one on ebay in my size, with a broken zip, but I imagine a dry cleaners could replace that? I've added it to my watch list.

£8 one seems to be a bargain - would love to see/hear what it's like when it turns up...and store away ideas for DDs future prom that don't cost an arm and a leg Grin
