what has happened to you? Terrible colours and shapes. Hard to imagine anybody looking good.

yes it has officially died. No more applique jumpers, fake Barbours and random stripy things. Oh and mustard coloured coats

I've been into 2 of their stores this weekend (my local one which is small and a massive one in our biggest regional shopping mall ).

All I wanted was a plain v-neck t- shirt. I wasn't fussed about the colour or whether it had short or long sleeves. I just wanted some wardrobe staples that flatter my boobs. Not a single v-neck t-shirt in sight!!!!!

I bought a fab pair of black suede knee high boots in there a couple of months ago. Best £50 i've spent for years.

I like Marks for shoes, beauty stuff and food. I give the clothing a wide berth.

I wandered through the indigo stuff, this morning and couldn't tell it apart from per una.

I went in there yesterday and found only three things I'd be willing to be seen in. One was a plain black jumper and the other two I already own. I'm usually able to find a fair few decent items amidst the horrors, but it seemed pretty dreadful overall.

They make me so cross. They just don't listen to/care about what people want from them - good basics in good colours. I don't want M&S to try to be fashion-forward and I don't want yellow trousers or peach t-shirts. Nor do I want rack upon rack of polyester or acryllic.

I've literally just thrown away all my M&S tops and cardigans as they are just TOO FLIPPING SHORT!

I've ordered 10 new tshirts online from GAP and they cover my tummy.

Ooo do Gap do long T shirts? I look like Tweedledum in an M&S T shirt Blush

We're getting an M&S in our town next month.

People are very exciting.

Am expecting to see some very weirdly dressed folk out and about over the next year. Currently everyone looks achingly normal.

It's dire isn't it? No real surprise their profits are still down. They have no clue!

Yes, Gap's tshirts cover my fat tummy. PLUS they don't shrink! They are more expensive but they're really thick and worth if on a cost-per-wear basis. It's a YES from me!

(Going to experiment with Uniqulo some other time)

Batteriesallgone · 30/01/2017 20:27

Yes but they still sell percy pigs.

And their boots are very good.

You just have to walk through the clothes section with your eyes shut!

Yes tops and jumpers are too short, I make a point in putting that into all the reviews.

I have got decent jeans from there and a cheap black shift dress which was fantastic over Christmas. But I have to trawl through so much stuff to find anything and can't buy basics like vests and tshirts because they are short!

There were some really hideous "gypsy style" skirts there the other day Sad

Our local store, which I think is a flagship one, no longer stocks the Autograph range. I emailed customer services and had the usual vanilla response. Also, the shop has been refurbished and now looks and feels like the old Littlewoods store, harsh lighting, white walls and chock-full of polyester. Heaven only knows who is doing the styling these days but there is nothing I want to wear. Sad, as I relied on M and S for staples. The shoes and underwear are ok but the clothes are truly awful. John Lewis is opening in my town soon so they will be getting my custom. Gap and Uniqlo are great for basic t-shirts and tops.

I don't mind their jeggings and the underwear is still decent. And I do love their foodhall - does that make me an old fart?

An M&S food opened down the road from my work - my diet Blush

I don't mind their basic trousers or jeans, but only because they do short that actually fits me. Underwear is OK. Rest of it is pretty awful.

I buy m and S flat comfy sandals every summer and find them much more comfortable than Clarks. But not found any clothes I like for several years.

I came onto this thread expecting to see a humorous pair of trousers or an outlandish jacket. I'm deeply disappointed.

I think they seem to be aiming to fill a gap in the market. The one left by BHS as that's what their clothing department looks like.
Why is everything made of shite fabric?

Oh my, usually there are some hidden gems but a quick look at their new in range proved fruitless.
