Wondering if anyone rates them ?

Have never used , in fact trying to think if I have seen them in store anywhere?

Reason for question is I have been reading a few articles in just received magazines for Feb 17 and a couple of their products are receiving pretty good reviews - one was a primer and the other a new foundation.

I really love some Nars ranges but their foundations don’t have any staying power on my 60+ years skin, two hours max even when set with powder. Would a primer make any difference? I’ve never tried one. Try asking for a sample, I’ve always been given a little bottle with a week’s worth of foundation in it. I’m reluctant to buy now unless I can try it first, this stuff is so expensive. For foundation Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24 hour in Lys Rose (mixed on my hand with a little LaRoche Posay Hydreane Legere moisturiser) or LaRoche Posay tinted moisturiser, depending on how I want to look, are my go-to’s. Nars powder eyeshadows, though, are gorgeous, and their staying power is great. Likewise their lipsticks, I prefer the satin and matte ones. For foundations though, these days, no sample no sale.

The lipsticks and blushers are great. Don't get on with the foundations.

I like their lipsticks and the velvet lip pencils are fab. The powders are good (eye shadows, blushers, bronzers etc). The creamy concealer is great, as is the eye shadow primer.

I have the Sheer Glow foundation but don't really get on with it. It isn't glowy at all and just 'sits' on my skin. It doesn't matter how I apply it - brush, fingers, sponge, light, layers, thick, mixed with moisturiser or highlighter, with primer. No dice. I just think it isn't for me. The colour range is good though.

I don't rate the mascara or eyeliners.

I don't really rate their Orgasm blusher that gets raved about - it's very glittery. Their eyeshadows and lipsticks are good.

The Orgasm blusher is far better in the Multiple format - far less glittery.

I use both NARS Sheer Glow and the Creamy Concealer on a daily basis.

The Sheer Glow foundation has a lovely radiant but natural finish to it. The concealer has amazing coverage and lasts all day. I don't set it or use a primer unless it's for a night out.

The great things about these two products in addition to getting what you pay for, they are non-comedogenic.

I don't like their glittery blushers either, journo but then I prefer matte anyway.

I love them but it's weird everyone goes on about Orgasm blusher so much because I don't think it's all that.

Their colours are a mix of wearable everyday and grown-up glamour I'd say. The recent range of Audacious lipsticks are really good but more expensive than the usual ones, and I love the Velvet Matte lip pencils - everyone should run out and buy Dragon Girl. I used to love Sheer Glow foundation but it stopped suiting me, and I didn't like their most recent foundation so much. The creamy concealer is excellent and apparently the tinted moisturiser is good.

If you're having trouble finding them, they're stocked in Space NK and John Lewis, Selfridges, Harvey Nichols etc.

I have one of their lip crayons. It is really nice, very soft and nice to use. But it doesn't last very long at all, and needs to be re-applied frequently. As it is so soft, the pencil itself only lasts me about three weeks which makes it really expensive.

I have their concealer (in a tube used with a sponge stick) which is lovely - much better colour match than my previous Estee Lauder one.

Also use the tinted moisturise which is good. I have a few lipsticks and the best velvety lip crayon which is gorgeous - great colour and texture.

I love the orgasm blusher but then I love glitter/shimmery make up.

Nars do have some nice products but if you're seeing good reviews in a few magazines don't forget it's all PR - they've probably just done a big launch or mail out to editors/jurnos. If you're interested in their products you need to go and try them! Laguna bronzer is the best bronzer though in my opinion. None of their other make up really does it for me...

What Londonfeather said. Which is why I won't buy a new foundation without a sample first, now.

That orgasm blusher, though, I have four of them, all free. I do love it, brushed on extra-lightly it does good things on my face. Someone saying 'You look better than you have been lately, have you been ill?' convinces me every time. Wink

I don't like their foundations, they're just too yellow toned for me. Love, love, love the Nars loose powder and their blushers especially Deep Throat and Gaiety. Am also a fan of their crayon lipsticks.

Their eyeshadow primer knocks the lauded Urban Decay one into a cocked hat.

I use the sheer glow and creamy concealer if going out and just the tinted moisturiser with spf other days. I like them all. Not cakey. Colours suit my olive skin.

I bought one of there mascaras and used it once - it was rubbish! So I've never purchased anything from there again, my favourite brand is definitely urban decay for high end and for drugstore NYX Smile

I like the foundation- though I stopped using the longwear one because it went a bit clumpy on my skin. The velvet one is nice. I love the creamy concealer.

The creamy concealer is amazing, eye bags be gone! I also have some of their eye shadows, sheer glow foundation and bronzer and blushes and love everything. Laguna bronzer is especially good!

I love Nars. The Sheer Glow and both tinted moisturisers are great. I like the new All Day foundation but it is a bit tricky and can cling to dry patches if you use the wrong primer underneath. I'd definitely try to get a sample before trying it, as it won't work for all skin types.

I think they do a good range of colours in their foundations, and they state whether they are yellow or pink based, which can be useful.

Their blushers are fab, especially Deep Throat and Amour. Their highlighters are fantastic, especially Copacobana and Hot Sand - I prefer the liquid versions in the tube instead of the multiples.

All Nars lip products are really good, I love the new Velvet Lip Glides.

Their eyeshadows can be great, though some are too dry, and they have interesting colour combos in their duos. They do really good basic neutrals in their single eyeshadows.

I don't like their Audacious mascara, or their cream shadow sticks (though the cream shadow in the pot (eye paint, I think) is really good).

THANK you all very much for sharing your thoughts.

I am quite yellow toned so foundation looks hopeful . I will have to see if I can go to John Lewis as that would probably be my best bet - I don't order make up online unless its something I have used before & know is ok for me.

I haven't tried the Sheer Glow foundation but do love the All day luminous Foundation. I also like the Nars face primer, creamy concealer and lipsticks. I find that if I like one product, in this case it was the foundation then I buy other products around it. I wanted to try the blusher in Gaity but notice that it's more shimmer than matt. The lipstick come in great colours but have no staying power.
