Do people still wear tights?

Morning, I am out tonight and wearing a short dress. I am 56, it's not ridiculously short but above the knee.
I rarely see people wearing nude tights nowadays - is it a no-no? I just get the impression it is...
I just think I would be warmer but if necessary I will shave and moisturize! Smile

Really good sheer tights are hard to detect.
It is cold, most people go for opaques (down here in the south). I understand that Geordies lasses are weatherproof and can do bare legs without the blue blotchy look. Envy

Thanks. Opaques wouldn't be an option with this dress - I've got a couple I can choose from but they need nude if anything. They're not really good ones - m and s, probably - whatever's here!
I am keen to avoid the blotchy look !!

Tights fine!

I wear tights, mainly opaque ones that are not sheer. Or I'll wear skin colour ones. I mainly wear them to stop my shoes from hurting my feet, than for the cold.

Gah!!! Not nude tights!!! Grin

Seriously though... Sheer 7 denier black (properly put on with wet hands) or none at all much more modern.

Completely opaque also fine.

The tarmac has to be melting for me to go out with bare legs. I'd wear nude tights, if the dress required it. Opaques otherwise.
I'd rather have warmer legs.

I cringe when I see bare legs in the winter. There's a lady at work that never wears tights and I think it looks horrible!

Ok nude tights it is! I have worn the shoes without and walked a fair way but yes, they will definitely help with the shoes.
Thank you so mich

I think as long as they look like you aren't wearing any it's fine but not if your shoes are opened toed. Then it'd have to be bare legs for me.

No, all filled in shoes, no toe seams here!

Black would be awful as would opaque, with these dresses

Have you considered nude micronets? Bit more modern, Debenhams has them.

I'd wear opaque with any of them. Not helpful?

AboutTime what do you mean 'properly put on with wet hands' Confused

If you're wearing the first outfit you could definitely go with opaques (if the shoes are black? They look like they are in that photo.)

Otherwise yes nude tights are fine. I also think micronets look good.

Yes! Woolly tights with short tartan skirts and knee high boots for work.

Sheer tights with short dress and boots either ankle or higher.

Cold. Tights under trousers.

I think black opaque with everyone of those. Definitely not nude they are truly hideous.

Question 7

Just stops them doing that weird twisty/ uneven opacity thing

Nude fishnets. DVF swears by them. They're like airbrushing for the legs without the frump factor of nude tights.
