Shoes to go with dress.

Could anyone help me find some shoes/boots to go with this dress please. Preferably not too high or with a wedge/platform if they are & under £40 if at all possible.

I'm absolutely clueless at shoes, recently realised that all the heels I own are courts which instantly make everything look like office wear!

Sorry should have said it's for a party!

I'd stick with ankle boots, like the picture, or shoe boots.

Great dress.

I have this exact dress in a black with floral print - i wore cage sandals.

something like this?

Those are lovely hels but I'm not sure I could walk in them.

I was thinking of ankle boots & keep coming back to these but again I'm not great at walking in heels!

HelsBels5000 Wed 25-Jan-17 17:22:15

They are really nice, give them a try!

Any jdea what the dress is made of? The website doesn't say. I'm tempted to buy it.

The dune ones are lovely - but surely if you could walk in them you could do the cage sandals? (I'd break my neck in both - need a good sturdy chunky heel!)

MyShinyThing Wed 25-Jan-17 17:29:26

Sorry burnished it hasn't arrived yet so I'm not sure. I imagine something quite cheap!

I was just thinking I should just go for them, but they've sold out in my size 😫 I'll have a look elsewhere for them.

MyShinyThing Wed 25-Jan-17 17:30:28

That's my worry Gin! I haven't worn heels like that in years!

HelsBels5000 Wed 25-Jan-17 17:35:58

Its essentially polyester - but it seems quite silky and doesn't cling or feel sweaty when worn for a party, I bought it again in a blue ditsy floral print too, its a very flattering style!

Not a big fan of ankle boots/straps with dresses as they can cut the leg off and make it look shorter. A lower cut shoe-boot can elongate the leg instead. If you prefer a wedge, go for a proper shoe as anything more will look very clunky and hoof-like!

Both block heels so probably a bit easier to walk in xx

MyShinyThing Wed 25-Jan-17 17:47:04

I nearly bought the blue ditsy one as well hels. Glad to hear it's flattering, I thought it was probably polyester.

I love the second link 2s, thanks. May go for those as they look a little lower, possibly!

I'm not a great fan of the chunky heels to be honest although should probably embrace it so I can walk!

MyShinyThing Wed 25-Jan-17 18:04:07

Damn enormous feet! The new look ones only go up to a 7 & I need an 8!

2sCompany Wed 25-Jan-17 18:05:37

No probs Shiny - I thought they looked lower too but still a nice shape. The one person who's left a review says they're easy to walk in smile

I'm with you on the chunky heels - not a fan at all, I think they look ugly (although I fully embraced them in the 90s! wink)

2sCompany Wed 25-Jan-17 18:12:54

Oh no, x-post.....New Look also sell on Amazon, Asos and a few other sites I think - worth a look maybe?

2sCompany Wed 25-Jan-17 18:25:55

These go up to an 8, don't look too high:

MyShinyThing Wed 25-Jan-17 18:26:43

Thanks, I've checked Asos & they don't have them. Hadn't thought of Amazon. Will check now.

If not I'll probably go for the Dune ones.
