Black velvet biker jacket?

Good idea or not? For something a bit dresser than a leather biker? Or just a no no? Not sure if it's making a more mature jacket try to be hip or something if that even makes sense. I'm mid 30s and wonder if it actually would be aging?

It sounds great. Have you got a link?
Obviously not as practical as a leather one but would be great to dress up an outfit in a cool way.

No, it was on next but got in sale so it's not on the site.

keeponkeepinon Mon 23-Jan-17 18:44:06

unless this link works?

RemusLupinsChristmasMovie Mon 23-Jan-17 19:48:26

Can't see it but it sounds brilliant!

I agree with Remus smile

Oh no is the link not working? It takes me to the clearance part of next with the jacket on it - I just typed in black velvet biker. It's a proper soft velvet. A leather jacket isn't always just the right thing and I thought it might make a nice little cover up.

does this work?

keeponkeepinon Mon 23-Jan-17 20:25:51

or this

I love it, but can't bare the feel of synthetic velvet, so it would have to be proper cotton velvet, but that's just me. It is lovely though.

Op, weren't you the one who started the no spend 2017 thread, and asked for people to keep you on the straight and narrow? 😉 Only teasing, I would be hopeless at a no spend. The jacket looks really nice

NewPantsforaNewYear Mon 23-Jan-17 20:46:30

I think it's great.

Got for it, it is lovely

Thanks for that fuzzy grin
In fact this was ordered in the boxing day sales of 2016 and only arrived today so therefore is entirely outside the boundaries of my pledge! as were the other two coats I'm thinking about I've always had a thing about having a good coat and shoes. And bag if possible. Not necessarily expensive, but good.

I don't mind the feel of synthetic velvet callar, it feels quite plush actually. Bit like a soft teddy bear!

Plus it was reduced down to £26 from £78 so a bargain! I think it's probably a good one to keep for occasional wear.

I tried it on full price and it didn't sit right on me and seemed to be really small which is weird for next . Anyways it was sooo overpriced I'm not surprised they had loads in the sale . Amazing discount though . I think it would work well for the party season ( which is what I wanted it for ) but not so much the rest of the time although I guess winter evenings out would be ok .

No chance I'd have paid full price for it jessie but £26 for party season isn't bad I dont think? I'll try it on again with a dress to see how it sits.

Definitely ! Bargain !
