I normally wear Converse but these caught my eye and I really like them, was thinking to wear with rolled up jeans. But are they a bit 2 years ago ?

Sorry, not a fan. Can't quite put my finger on what it is, but they look a bit too frumpy.

I've currently got my eye on these these and the rose gold Converse for a bit of colour.

I don't think you can go wrong with classic shapes like Stan Smiths, Superstars or Air Max.

ProseccoBitch Sun 22-Jan-17 14:10:54

I love them.

IfartInYourGeneralDirection Sun 22-Jan-17 14:13:01

New balance are mum boots of trainers.

CateGory8 Sun 22-Jan-17 14:38:18

Like them. I find the Nike Thea trainers to be narrow and unremarkable, not really that comfortable.

NotLadyPrickshit Sun 22-Jan-17 14:44:44

Ifart I'm reliably informed that new balance trainers are the in thing with young ones these days hmm

DoorsAndWater Sun 22-Jan-17 15:24:35

Love them, I've got a pair and several others like them! So has my 14 year old niece and my 16 year old nephew, I wear them with jeans, harem trousers, skirts the lot

habibihabibi Sun 22-Jan-17 15:36:24

Trainers like that remind me of tourists .

PurpleNurple69 Sun 22-Jan-17 15:39:53

I've got the teal ones and I LOVE them! My 19yo daughter has the burgundy ones so they're definitely not frumpy!

AllPizzasGreatAndSmall Sun 22-Jan-17 15:46:02

They are nothing like the ones in your picture though, habibihabibi.

DillDongMerrilyOnHigh Sun 22-Jan-17 15:48:53

I love them.

17 year old DD chose a Navy/peach pair for xmas so definitely not frumpy, retro is apparently in.

AllStar14 Sun 22-Jan-17 16:16:52

Love them.

yummycake123 Sun 22-Jan-17 16:18:13

I love them.

confusednorthner Sun 22-Jan-17 20:06:00

I like them, my dd has just got some and I'd really like a pair too :-)

MartinRohdesBellybuttonFluff Sun 22-Jan-17 20:14:13

I have a couple of pairs of them so does DH. I don't think they're frumpy at all (or may be I'm in ignorant bliss!) They have been around for a while but where's the harm in that?

They really comfortable btw. DH likes to wear his to give his feet a rest from his usual non-supportive Converse and work shoes.

0ellenbrody0 Sun 22-Jan-17 20:16:28

I've got some in magenta, they are fab and fussy teen DD's approve!

MartinRohdesBellybuttonFluff Sun 22-Jan-17 20:19:31

And also, they are ethical (not sweatshop produced) if that is one of your concerns when buying shoes or clothes.

SpangledBoots Sun 22-Jan-17 20:20:05

I had a purple pair a few years ago. They wore through really quickly so I didn't buy more.

I think there are more classic style trainers that suit more people and last longer.

clumsyduck Sun 22-Jan-17 20:21:35

Not frumpy at all !

I'd wear them and I'm young fashionable and cool. I am. I am dammit grin

EmmaC78 Sun 22-Jan-17 20:31:10

I like them too, definitely not frumpy.

MartinRohdesBellybuttonFluff Sun 22-Jan-17 20:31:31

She's definitely not frumpy grin

MartinRohdesBellybuttonFluff Sun 22-Jan-17 20:34:11

Although this is also hilarious (I still love mine grin)

LiefieLiefie Sun 22-Jan-17 20:40:43

Ok if the OP just so happens to look like Rihanna or a 17 year old girl, I take it all back.

But then I can't imagine much looking frumpy on Rihanna or a 17 year old girl.

Thanks everyone. Re Adidas Superstars I am planning on getting some bit was going to wait until spring so I don't trash them in this weather. I ordered the New Balance anyway to see what they're like on.
