L'Oréal true match foundation- any good?

I wear Estée Lauder double wear light and love it's staying power. But I need to cut my beauty spend and saw this in boots today. I'm really pale and like something that lasts but doesn't settle into my increasing lines. I feel like I always look tired - probably because I always am!

I love it , goes on like a dream and easy to colour match Smile

Try Revlon Colourstay - closest dupe for DoubleWear, and comes in about 20 shades. The oily/combo skin version is similar to DoubleWear, whereas the dry skin version is similar to DoubleWear Light.

(I've tried True Match as well, but have stuck with Colorstay as the colours and finish both suit me much better.)

I have it and do like it although it's fairly matte. It has a lovely finish to it.

Yes I love it - it's got great yellow undertones and goes on beautifully.

I find the finish a bit too matte for me but I've got dry skin.

I like it. Very light but good coverage

Annoyingly it oxidised and settled really badly on me. I loved it for the first five minutes and then became increasingly disappointed every time I looked in the mirror.

Infallible is their best foundation

Interesting responses- thanks. It might be worth trying then. That and colorstay. How do you apply yours?

I either use my fingers or a damp beauty blender to apply it.

I love it. It's quite a light coverage (IMO), great for everyday wear. I would recommend it

I might need to get one of those colour match card things from boots to try out their app!

Yes, I have True Match and it's very good. I use a tiny amount and often use it as a concealer too.

Thanks! Lots of love for it here!

I tried it & didn't get on with it, a bit flaky, however, as Ellapaella said, infallible is their best imo.

Thanks! What sort of finish is infallible?

It's quite good coverage without being too thick. It lasts all day in my experience and covers blemishes and dark circles (under eyes) very well. I am a massive fan of L'Oréal foundation, I've used a lot of the higher end brands and honestly I find L'Oréal are just as good as Estée Lauder, Chanel and Nars.

That's interesting to hear. I picked up some true match earlier and am now wishing I tried the infallible too as all L'Oréal is 2 for £12 in boots at the moment! I might have to pop back tomorrow!

Well I'm early 40's & I've found over the last couple of years, that if I use more foundation, it can make me look older? I'd love to have that flawless full coverage look that they acheive on Pinterest pictures but I just have to admit I'm not 20 something anymore!! Anyway, I find infallible the closet foundation to a good coverage, without having to use too much, but my best trick I found was to use Nivea soft moisturiser first, then use infallible straight after. I find that leaves a nice smooth look. Like Ellapaella said, the staying power is very good. I then finish with collection 2000 loose face powder in transulent, it's the best face powder I've used, no orangeyness! In infallible shades I'm quite fair so I use rose natural. Vanilla was too yellow & porcelain a bit too light.

I've also tried the loreal nude magnique cushion foundation and that is also very good, but it is a light coverage, perhaps one for summer.

I was going to add, since you have already picked up your true match, take your receipt with you when you go back & they should still honour you the offer of 2 for £12 when you pick up the infallible foundation.

I use it for years and I'm very satisfied! It covers everything and it blends perfectly with your skin tone. Just find the right shade!

It's funny you mentioned Nivea. The woman in boots recommended the Nivea men post shave balm as a primer to me!

I second the Nivea recommendation! I use the very basic, old fashioned dark blue Nivea in a tube. No more dry skin, make up goes on beautifully.
