Help Me! Massive red spot on my cheek.

Help! Yesterday a massive red spot erupted on my cheek and it's not showing any signs of moving.

There's no head. It's sore to the touch. It's like a little hillock on my face.

Last night I rubbed it with a muslim cloth and put some tea tree oil on over night but it's not done much.

Tomorrow evening I'm off to a posh dinner and could really do with it going down. I'd settle for it just being flat so I could try make-up to hide it. At the minute, there's no disguising it.

Please help, what quick fixes can I try!!

Smear some toothpaste on it overnight. Or sudocream, but I find toothpaste more effective.

White toothpaste - it dries and soothes it.

I have two on my cheek right now looks like a vampire has got me.
Luckily , I'm not in need of covering them, but my face just seems to be reacting in a very juvenile way (I'm 50) since Christmas.

Take an antihistamine to reduce the swelling beneath this skin, and cleanse your face thoroughly and apply some brightening eye drops over the clean spot area. These work by contracting the blood vessels so the redness is reduced. These tips are from Sali Hughes book Pretty Honest and I've tried- it works to the extent that the spot is more easily hidden with concealer than if you just left it alone. She also recommends if you can find an appointment for a private clinic to ask for a cortisone injection, but I think that's more for emergencies like wedding day etc (and probably pricy!) toothpaste only seems to work on spots that has a white head, by drying it out- it doesn't really reduce the redness for me.

I second taking an antihistamine but after cleansing put a blister plaster over it and leave it on overnight. This works wonders for me when I get the kind of spots you describe.
