Is it?

We need a diagram. wink
How crepey is your neck?
Is the choker mid neck or sitting at the base?
Does it look good on you?

It 's got nothing to do with your age and everything to do with your neck.

If you have a stubby neck you should never wear a choker.

If you have a lovely long neck you can wear a choker for the rest of your days.

I would say so, as you'd be old enough to remember them from the first time round. Unless it is part of your usual style, I'd avoid it tbh, but I doubt anybody would be laughing at you in the street. I'd put it in the category of space-buns etc- best left to teenagers and young adults, unless you've always had a quirky sort of style.

Nothing to do with age: they looked bloody awful on me in my teens, so I'm sure as fuck not going there this time around!

AmeliaJack Sat 14-Jan-17 16:47:12

It's not about age. It's about shape - they are not universally flattering.

If you think it looks nice then go for it!

Depends on the state of your neck/throat.

That is always the case whether you are 20 or 70.

Brighteyes27 Sat 14-Jan-17 16:51:18

My SIL had one on in December she is 39/40 and she looked absolutely fab in it. She is short petite and fairly slim. I think if you like it and think it looks good just go for it.

MagicChicken Sat 14-Jan-17 16:52:38

And it's not just about the thickness and length of your neck either - even if you have a long graceful neck all your life if you develop loads of wobbly crepey turkey skin under your chin then a choker will massively draw attention to it. You could be lucky and have no double chin and no excess wobbly skin at any age in which case, great, go for it.

No, not necessarily.

Check your mirror, not your birthday.

And it's liberating to ditch ageist assumptions, both for detail of appearance and for life in general.

Nellyphants Sat 14-Jan-17 16:57:41

I'm 48, crepyiness is creeping in. I was fine at 41 so go for it

Dulcimena Sat 14-Jan-17 17:06:15

I loved my velvet choker when I was younger. I wouldn't wear one now though (40). Not to say that you shouldn't, of course.

Reality16 Sat 14-Jan-17 17:07:20

I saw 2 people wearing chokers at a family engagement party last week. One was 11 and the other was 7.

Don't wear a choker. They look ridiculous.

FrankAndBeans Sat 14-Jan-17 17:10:38

Everyone is too old for a choker.

paxillin Sat 14-Jan-17 17:11:52

No.

nigelforgotthepassword Sat 14-Jan-17 17:17:10

I'm 37 and I wore one on a night out recently-got lots of compliments on it.If it looks nice on you, wear it!

SugarLoveHeart Sat 14-Jan-17 17:17:20

Crepey? My neck is almost 41...

OhWellNeverMindEh Sat 14-Jan-17 17:17:27

My neck...

Pestilence13610 Sat 14-Jan-17 17:18:59

Good neck.
Make sure it is a grown up choker.
This lady looks fantastic.

Laiste Sat 14-Jan-17 17:19:20

Black velvet or pearls or row of daisies or what though? And what is the occasion?

'Black tie' event; full on floor length evening dress, long gloves and thin plain black choker might look wonderful on a slim and elegant neck.

OhWellNeverMindEh Sat 14-Jan-17 17:20:12

I think that filter might have been a bit flattering....I shall try on outfit and ask the DH.

I didn't wear them first time round and will be wearing a plain, black top and trousers....

OhWellNeverMindEh Sat 14-Jan-17 17:20:52

Just a ribbon one....

MitzyLeFrouf Sat 14-Jan-17 17:21:06

You have a great neck. Go for it.

DowhatIwanttodo Sat 14-Jan-17 17:22:54

Are they in or something? The trend must have passed me by.

From your pic I would say you could wear one.

BusterGonad Sat 14-Jan-17 19:20:02

Who gives a shit? Wear it op and wear it with pride!
