I'm 14 weeks pregnant and having a style crisis. It's my second pregnancy and in both I have been continuously starving in the first few months and ballooned in weight which is making me miserable. Pre pregnancy I was a 10-12 5'7 and whilst maybe I wasn't hugely on trend had a sense of style and took pride in dressing nicely. Now I just have no idea how to dress a bmi of 25. I realise I'm not prohibitively fat but my usual style doesn't work - plus clothes are too small.
I have quite a few jojomamanbebe bits from last time and 2 nice frugi dresses from the sale. My main issue is it is all a bit mumsy. I would love to look just a bit more edgy/cool etc. I did try some stuff last time from jjmb that I thought was a bit edgier but transpired mini skirts whilst pregnant are not a good look if you are a bit of a heffalump.
I had skinny jeans from h&m and jjmb which looked good if standing still but felt like they were slopping down my bum all the time. Ended up mostly wearing boot cut from jjmb which I'm aware was not a great fashion move but they stayed up and were comfy.
I am grateful for any suggestions to look a bit more stylish. Problem area is tummy plus even the bit above tummy below waist my whole core just looks so thick from the side. I have reasonably broad shoulders but quite slim arms, not particularly big boobs so shirts are good. I think front on chest upwards looks reasonably slim - all weight has gone to the middle!
Pictures or specific suggestions really welcome. Also what is a real mumsy no no. Think I have spent so much of the last few years looking at maternity clothes that I'm starting to loose my mumsy alert.
I'm not in the UK so can't just order and send back tonnes of stuff. I also tried on some of my sisters clothes last time as she is bigger than me. Just ended up looking like I was wearing too big clothes on top which clinged badly to the bump! Any suggestions for clothes that can be sized up?
