Have Primark changed their sizing recently?

I'm annoyed as I went there today and two pairs of jeggings are too big. It's a pain in the arse for me to get to so feel really irritated about this! I got a pair of jeans the same size and they fit fine. I can see that the jeans are a few inches smaller when I compared the waist bands. Wish I'd done that in the shop!

Grr I really don't like shopping and avoid it until I'm desperate (I.e when my clothes are starting to fall apart). Previously loved that with Primark I could just pick things up and not have to try them on as I was always the same size in everything. I've had size 8 jeggings from them in the past and they fit perfectly. If this is vanity sizing, I'm not a fan!

Primark sizes are so hit n miss
The same pair of jeans in a 8 fit but the other pair (identical ) didn't ..

Primark are all over the shop (pun intended) with sizing. I'm a 10 most places. I have had 8s in Primark that are too loose and 12s I couldn't get done up.

You need to try them on with Primark. Sometimes if you hold a couple of garments that have the same size label you can see that one is INCHES bigger than the other.

I've always found I could get away with not trying things on there up until now! Maybe I've been lucky!

I thought it might be a new thing there.

I've got two jumpers from primark that are identical, both a size 8. One is miles bigger than the other.

They had loads of size 4 stuff in stock too! I thought perhaps they'd changed their sizing and the size 4 stuff was brought in to cater to people who used to be a 6. I know there are some size 4s out there but didn't think it was that common! Obviously I'm wrong and they've always been inconsistent with sizing and I somehow never noticed!

I wish shops would all standardise their sizing. At least I'd expect all sizes in one shop to measure the same, but it would be even better if all shops followed the same measurements.

Isn't this one of the reasons they are so cheap, because they have limited quality control with their suppliers?

Maybe park. That makes sense. I just must have been lucky to have not had this happen before!

I noticed they had loads of size 4 (us size 0) items as well.

My DH was once trying to buy a pair of smartish summer trousers in Primark and he found that when he tried on about 4 pairs of allegedly the same size and length, they were all slightly different. It really is worth trying on the individual items in there.

I think Primark sizing must generally be reasonably generous as I can always get into my "usual" size in there, and if I'm really honest, sometimes in other shops it is a bit small!

My guess is the size 4 stuff is mainly bought by youngish teenagers!

I brought two pairs of jeans, exactly the same pair. Ones tight, one is not! Sizing there has always been hit or miss.

The size 4's are for the teenagers ( and obvs some very slim adults ) . I have a dd who is 13 and she wears primark 4 and 6! It's a good option to topshop which are £45 for a pair of jeans !

Gap are just as bad, and they don't have the 'cheap prices, limited quality control' excuse to fall back on!

I bought two pairs of size 12 trousers from Gap, same style, same rail, same price. I tried one on and they fitted. The second pair, which I didn't try on, thinking "why would I need to?", were more like a 10, despite having an identical style number and label.
