Amazing dress for posh wedding needed!

Have a wedding to go to in march, 5 star beautiful venue. Struggling to find anything I like especially.

I'm 5ft5, losing weight but probably a size 12. Narrow shoulders, large bust (30F/28FF), small waist, wide hips and enormous thighs/backside. Arms aren't great from the elbow up. I'm very very pale with dark hair.

Willing to spend a bit and willing to get something altered. Have no idea what even suits my new proportions so any ideas are welcome!

Folks usually recommend Vivienne Westwood Anglomania. Sounds like your shape would suit them. This is nice. I would avoid the 'Doric" dress at all costs... Smile

I love that but think the neck might be a bit high for my bust. Also am fairly anxious about sleeveless as I don't like my arms. The general shape is lovely though.

Just looked at the Doric dress. OMG!

sugar sounds like we have a similarish figure and bust size, though I don't have the thighs, weight is more on the tummy. Watching with interest...

Sounds like you would look fab in a 1950s style

I second Chi Chi London - lots there that would suit your shape.

Ted Baker usually has some good options (but may not fit your boobs), Phase Eight sometimes has nice dresses (but avoid the safe mum of bride options).

All the vintage companies like Lindy Bop and The Pretty Dress Company are worth a look. Pretty Dress Company has a huge range so you could order loads to try on. if you want to spend more then these look fab.

Might be worth a try. I'm very curvy & the dresses fit me.

I love the doric dress! maybe not for a wedding. I think your shape would suit vivienne westwood (mine doesn't, gah), and don't worry about arms! sleeves don't actually hide them anyway. It's all about confidence...

Re Chichi London.
They do a lot of skater dresses which would hide my hefty thighs (the rest of me is ok) but are they all as flared at the photos suggest?
I worry that they might be a bit too "girly" on aged me!

are you a pear Fidelia? I'm a pear and empire line looks awful on me - I look pregnant. I need something with a waist as that's my slim bit, and it sounds like OP does too!

Breakfast I've tried a few skater styles from ChiChi, knee length or tea length only though rather than the short ones. Those lengths looked ladylike in a 1950s way, not little girly. I do think the really short ones could look a bit little girl.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I love the bombshell dress but would it work with saddlebags?

I'm not sure what shape I am really. I'm not quite an hourglass or a pear- measurements 37-27-40 but have saddlebags. Also have a post c section tummy. I've lost 4 stone since this time last year but I still look large, probably due to my strange proportions!
