First Botox booked for tomorrow

I'm having a consultation and will listen to her recommendations.
I have a 50 year old face with deep 11s and those awful creases from my nose to below my mouth.
She is very much the less is more type so I'm hoping to look like me me 12 hours of sleep.
Anything I should ask or be weary of?

I think fillers are supposed to be better for those creases. Good luck and share all the details.

I'm open to fillers but absolutely don't want anyone to know that I've had them.
I'm working in the afternoon, google suggests there might be a bit of bruising so I'll take some concealer.
Is there any special aftercare, like not rubbing your skin or something?

I've had Botox not fillers.

You may have tiny marks but shouldn't have bruising.
You can't lie down for a few hours.
I've always been told not to put make up on the needle marks due to risk of infection (sure it's minimal though)

I can't think of anything else. Pp is right though you can't have Botox on the nose to mouth lines that would need fillers.
I've had Botox in between my eyes, forehead lines, crows feet and under my eyes. I love it I have it done very lightly and it looks very natural.

Don't massage your face cleansing at night, you spread the Botox round your face temporarily

Reporting back.

I had Botox in my 11s. It wasn't really painful (much less than a flu jab). Apparently I won't see any results for a few days. The practitioner said I might not need filler there but to review again in a few months.

The biggest difference is the fillers in my nasolabial folds. Before I had deep crevices from my nose down past my mouth now they're very gentle creases in the top third. I'm thrilled with the result.
Again it didn't really hurt, more than the Botox but really only a few tiny stings. I've got a couple of tiny bruises where the needle went in but they could easily be mistaken for spots.

I think I look much less grumpy, DH grudgingly agrees.

It'll show full effects in a couple of weeks . I have mine in my 11s for migraine . Perks me up a bit too

I've had both done.

I go to a local group buy and have filler (hurts more than botox, if you can get it done when you have time to sit with a asthmatic cream for an hour first it takes away any pain) in my nasal folds plus botox in my forehead (tiny bit) 11s and bunny lines.
£180 for botox only and £260 for both.

KenD I have 11s and bunny for migraines. If I'm flush I get temples too.

It works for me.

My eyelids were very droopy so on a cosmetic doctor's advice I had Botox to lift the brow area and the eyelids. The results are amazing. The brows have a great arch and I look fresher, more groomed and wide awake. No one has said anything but 'you look great today - did you have your hair done?'. I have adult DDs who are my style police and they love the effect. Even my DM (aka the worlds most critical woman) couldn't find fault with it. Best £200 I have spent for a long, long time. (London price).

How long does it really last for and have any of you tried ultherapy?

I'm deciding between that and Botox at the minute.

I posted earlier about Botox. I also had lower face and neck ultherapy just before Christmas. Since it it takes 3-6 months to kick in I cannot say yet if it was good value for money in the way that Botox was.

What I can say is that it was uncomfortable and time consuming having it done but after the initial treatment I haven't needed any additional pain relief. I bruised quite badly on my neck for a few days after the procedure and have had lots of tenderness, minor swelling and rashes in that area ever since. Nothing terrible that stops me going out and about or has provoked comment from anyone but my adult DDs, but enough that I am aware of it.

BUT on the plus side after just 3 weeks I can already see improvement - my chin is more defined and despite the swelling the whole area already looks firmer. I am very hopeful for the final results. Now I just need to lose quite a few pounds and tone up my body. I do an annual business trip with DH to a Carribean island every summer and having been quite saggy and frumpy the last few years I really want to wow them all in 2017!

You can actually have Botox for your basic labial folds (nose to mouth lines) but it can be higher risk due to the complex nerve and muscle groups in that area.
Also if the fold is more of a deep crease, dermal filler will give a far superior result.

After your Botox, you'll be given some facial exercises to do for an hour or so, you aren't to bend forwards, or lie down flat for 4 hours afterwards. No vigorous exercise for 24hours. You'll be told all this at your aftercare though don't worry.

Post filler is much easier, depending on the type, you may be advised to lightly massage.
You can feel very lumpy and bumpy for a few days (although you shouldn't look it)
Drink plenty of water, the molecules swell and settle as you do so.
Don't have an alcoholic drink the day before, also avoid NSAIDS (aspirin, ibuprofen etc) as they can increase the risk of bruising.
Arnica cream is great if you do get any slight bruising.

I've recently admitted to myself that I'd love Botox. Maybe 'baby Botox', the subtle one? Just on my forehead.

Thank you, Liinoo. Brilliant that you're seeing some results now but my word waiting 3-6 months for it to kick in? I would be so impatient. I hope it is absolutely worth it and gives you perfect results in time for your trip to the Caribbean.

I wonder if they would do ultherapy on my forehead as well as Botox to cover the 3 month waiting for results period.

Doesn't any one have any recommendations for anyone in the east mids or midlands generally for Botox / fillers please? There are a few places I know of but no recommendations! How did you all go about finding the right place?
